- Hey guys! A year has gone by since my first day in a life at the academy. And I am so grateful for all the love and support y’all have given me since then! There was a little rough patch but I have been able to manage it, so I’m really excited for this coming year. Looking back on my year at the academy, I’ve definitely had my ups and downs, hardships, and friendships, friends that have gone and new friends that I just made. Besides my hair being longer, lol, my life since that video last year has changed a lot and I’m definitely happy with where I am today. Thank y’all again! Thank you for making these videos. I love seeing everyone, especially those that look like us. I’m retired Air Force enlisted. Didn’t see many AF academy female grads that were of color while I served. I want my granddaughters to have the same opportunities. Bless all of you.

I'm a junior in high school who's interested in the Airforce Academy though I've always been worried I wouldn't be happy with my choice. Though your videos are giving me comfort and inspiration to apply for the academy. I really enjoy the videos so please keep making them! :)

Can you explain when you are allowed to leave base and wear civilian clothes? I love watching these videos!!
As a sophomore we have unlimited weekend passes so we can leave for the whole weekend every weekend, and we can wear civilian clothes after our military duties (school/after retreat) for the most part!

What are the requirements to join other than academic requirements? Is it true you need a note from a senator?
Yes! I am currently in the application process :) A recommendation from your senator/congressman, you have to do considerably well on the CFA (Candidate Fitness Assessment) and you have to go get your DoDMERB Medical! While that's not all that there is to do, once when you receive your "Candidate Kit," there will be a list of stuff to do and interviews to be conducted. In the application process, there's a lot of activity slots and awards and clubs and positions and people that you need to prove/get recommendations from/have examples where you demonstrate various qualities etc. If you're interested, work hard to maintain decent grades, GET INVOLVED and show leadership!

Can foreigners also get admitted into this college? ( Actually, I am a foreigner and have a desire to attend this college. I would also like join the US military (Air force) to serve the country. But, I don't know they will provide me this opportunity or not.☹️. So, it will be grateful if someone answers this question.)
You need to first ensure to be affiliated in your country military preferably the cadet program and apply

@@heatherlory99 I’m not, but for those that want to, they usually take the bio chem route and then the academy has slots for those who will go to medical school and if you get a slot then the academy pays for it, (the service requirement is longer since they payed for more of your school) I’m pretty sure that’s how it works but I’m no expert.
