I love that miles is half black half Puerto Rican and his added ability to use the venomstrike along with is stronger Spider Sense I just paid the dude is awesome
Miles' Spider Sense isn't stronger than most spider-people, quite the opposite. It's limited severely by its range so it's more like a proximity alarm where others like Peter are maybe a radar. Which is fine because his other powers more than make up for it.
He would be part African American and part Puerto Rican. Seeing as Puerto Ricans have black ancestry.

Huh, so in the comics Miles dates Kate Bishop. While, Hailee Steinfeld plays Kate Bishop in live-action, while also voicing Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Verse as Miles' love interest.

The cool thing about Stan Lee is he's been a supporter of equal rights and wanted diversity. When the US became more open to characters of color, we saw a rise in Marvel black characters, including Black Panther, Storm, Falcon and more

So true! He’s always tried to bring light to social issues while subconsciously having us be able to understand others plight’s and injustice’s. X-Men storylines he conveyed a lot of this, too! Stan was always a man of great compassion and understanding. But, best yet he was a great teacher for all of us to see the world through different lenses!!!! R.I.P. Mr. Lee

Agreed, but you'd be surprised how many times people go off on a tirade about how Miles Morales is not 'their' Spider-Man, like as if there's somehow no room for more than one version of Spider-Man.
@@JP_Loco_93 there is a lot of room for more than one spider character. But Miles deserves a chance to build is own legacy i think...he being "Spider-man(Miles Morales)" forever isn't the way to go.

Finally just got through the Assassination Classroom anime, and would love to see 107 Facts about it.
I'm in the group of people who want miles to have his own monicker tied on to the spiderman legacy. Gwen has Ghost spider, Hobie has Spiderpunk, Miguel has 2099, ect. I'm not saying he isn't spider-man it's just annoying seeing people use his full name all the time.
His other name is actually "Spinn"

Any alternate Peter Parker needs to have his/her own world built around him/her, as we saw with Spider-Noir, Penny, Spider-Ham and Pavitr. Since they weren't going to do that for a black Spider-Man, it was better to make the person under the mask a whole new character. And I rather like the idea of a new Spidey taking the reins from Peter Parker when Peter can no longer do the job alone or at all. I also like that they didn't write Miles as a diversity token, even though that's what was demanded of them. He was just a boy saddled with Spidey powers who also happened to be Afro-Latino. He was written as a person first. And since they let him be a real, true character, he ended up being one of the best iterations of Spider-Man ever. Amazing what can happen when you treat minorities like real people capable of anything, instead of like tokens to be pitied and babied and told that they'll never achieve anything, so they should just rely on the Dems (aka the party of slavery) for their every need.
I still wanna know how a black man born in the late 20th century ends up with the name Jefferson Davis, though. No wonder he took his wife's name.

You say that but his first comic run is the antithesis to your point. He was written as a way to replace Ultimate Spider-Man and reach out to black audiences (which is stupid because that's why Peter has a mask in the first place). Idk his existence feels wrong to me.

Honestly? Miles just doesn't really strike me as a very interesting Spider-Man. His personality is nearly identical to Peter's. His decisions, also identical.
The writers wanted to make a Spider-Man that was black, but also one that long-time fans could get along with. So they just made Peter black, gave him some new parents, and make Uncle Ben into a tragic villain. It's a waste. Miles could be so much more. Or less. Anything. Just, something different.
His powers also just strike me as a little lame. Invisibility, however-strong-the-writers-feel-like "Venom," an apparently superior Spider-Sense, equal or greater physical attributes to Peter, etc. A plain upgrade isn't any fun. There's no exchange. There's no tragedy. For all the highs, there are few and shallow lows. It's like a Sonic OC that's had billions of dollars worth of animation budget shoved down his throat. Miguel is a MUCH better approach as far as powers go. He's awesome. Love Miguel.
His motivations aren't ever really explored very thoroughly. They're not enough. With Peter, in his comics, you can feel his desperation. He makes it clear why exactly he feels responsible, and his struggle sometimes gets the better of him. Not Miles, though. It may just be a difference in quality of writers, though, since that sort of thing happens a lot, to many other characters. Miles has never really gotten to be his own character. He has always been Black Peter, and I think he'll always be that way, too. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, I guess. A lot of fans want that. It just feels like a waste.
*Miles has never really gotten to be his own character?* Looks like someone hasn't watched the Spider-Verse movies, cause that Miles is EASILY better than most of his incarnations, especially his comic self.
