I have so many things I want to say: I love that you touched on the mother in law issue, and how we should treat people the way we want to be treated. Also, so many women have had multiple miscarriages and still cannot diagnose why. You are so blessed and lucky to be in a country and hospital that was so equipped to deal with every issue, I cannot imagine how the story was for so many other women in this part of the world. I’m 62, born in 1961 in Pennsylvania . A friend of mine, same age and born in the same city as I, told me that her mother almost passed away after giving birth to her. From what she told me, her mother was bleeding to death internally. But no one at the hospital knew what to do. But there happened to be a doctor from another country visiting the hospital. This doctor was elsewhere in the hospital, just being given a tour. Hospital staff called him in on the case and immediately he knew what was happening and what to do. Her mother was given blood transfusions and other treatments which saved her life. I thank God that doctors were present who knew what to do in my friend’s mother’s case and in the case of this woman sharing her experiences in this video. God surely worked through those doctors. My own mother, who married in 1951, had 5 miscarriages before I was born in 1961. It’s so important for women to share their experiences. God bless all of you. ❤️🙏

Adeola, I don’t know why I’m crying. 26 years ago the Doctors gave my ex and my beautiful daughter 50/50 chance to survive. They both pulled through by God’s grace. My daughter had to be birthed by CS at just 6 months. There’s nothing God cannot do. Thank God you are alive to give this testimony🙏🏽.
I'm here 10 weeks pregnant whining and complaining of nausea and sickness of the first trimester while others are going through life threatening conditions... This one has woken me up oo... @@autismmirrorhubit’s not a different system. Blacks here are just seen as dramatic or without knowing it, there is just an implicit bias amongst healthcare workers towards black people. Thus, a white persons complaints are taking more seriously than a black person. That was the case with the one doctor trying to tell Adeola that she just has a low pain tolerance. They dismiss us easily or act like we are drug seeking just because of the stereotype.

Thank you for sharing. I could hold my tears because i had placenta privia, cord also holding my baby so badly. The Anastasia giving to me started fading off due to long time trying to manage the complications, i started feeling the raw pain as they put their hands in and out of me...at a point my spirit could no longer carry the pain and was leaving by raising my chest up and down but prayers were on going and i saw two angels came over me and locked their hands over me, preventing my spirit from leaving...that was how i stayed and miraculously survived it and got out. After which, the baby needed oxygen while i needed blood ...memories i can never forget.

Well said. I remember when i had sepsis after my Caesarean section. I kept telling my husband and doctors around me that something was wrong with me but most people said i was just being lazy. It took them 2 weeks for them to detect what was wrong after i was transferred to another hospital.
Sometimes I don’t think it has to do with color. I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer last year. My 1st primary care physician was from Ghana but she never took me serious. It took a white doctor to really listen to my complaints and send me for necessary tests. Eventually I was diagnosed and truth be told almost all my Care team are white except my radiation oncologist who was Indian but these people treated me like I’m family they were so kind to me. Now I’m rounding up my treatment, a breast cancer survivor thanks to white doctors. So let’s not generalize pls. There are many good white folks out there, doctors inclusive.
@@blessingochea5395 nobody said anything bad about White doctor. All we said is that if you are Black you should advocate for yourself. You must be young. All pepole (even fellow Black people) don't take other Black people seriously most of the time. So, if your life is in danger you have to fight for yourself as a Black person. I just hope your life is never in enough danger that you fully understand the conversation that is being had here.
I had to watch this video a second time to really take it in! What an amazing testimony. Nurses are taught to advocate for their patients, but sometimes you are your own best advocate. No one knows better what you’re going through than yourself. So many patients have been written off when doctors cannot pinpoint the cause of their complaints, but thank God for patients like Adeola that refused to be quiet!! One cannot deny the hand of God in all these challenges that Adeola had to go through. There’s nothing like having an amazing husband that will stick with you through thick and thin. I cried listening to you, what a faithful God we serve. After giving birth to my children that was 14 years ago, I have not stopped praying for pregnant woman and women at the delivery room. Lord!!! I wept with you so much when you spoke about going into your second surgery and Victor helplessly watching you go. My sister is B- she had 7 miscarriages with over 2 sets of twins, lost them all, the same symptoms you had and with a husband who cared more about his political career. I watched my dad cry profusely after one of the miscarriages as he held the foetus in his hand (it had popped out suddenly one morning when she went to the bathroom). It was such a difficult period for our family. God finally rewarded her with a boy who looks exactly like my dad, he's 12 now. Her husband didn't even pay hospital bills. She left him after many years, remarried such a good caring man who made sure she had the best healthcare ever and now they have a daughter and she's pregnant again and vibrant. None of those symptoms have reappeared and my parents will be welcoming their 13th grandchild in February. My heart goes out to those who died ignorant. Healthcare is definitely important.

😢 I didn't plan to watch this but it just popped up in my device and I started watching it. My daughter who had a fresh still birth in the US February 2023 due to placenta abruptio, lost a pregnancy in again July and she is pregnant again and has been bleeding. Each time a scan is done, she's told that the fetal heartbeat is still there. She is been managed at the hospital on full bed rest. 10 weeks gone. Watching your testimony has encouraged me. I thank God for your life and the baby's. Thanks for sharing and please pray for her.
🤩 I am a 64 year old nurse who had been practicing nursing in the USA for over 30 years now and a mother of 5(twin included). I am grateful to God for your life and your testimony. I am glad you chose to share this to let people be aware of the mercies of the Lord! I had never experienced such things, but I have taken care of a fellow nurse in my home who came from Nigeria then to have her baby. This was 1999 and she had the baby in March 2000. She experienced placenta preavia. I took care of my bosom friend for five months so I remembered all those bleeding, middle of the night rushing to the hospital with her and my husband. The lesson on Rh negative was great too. I hope people learned to always disclose their history or anything that stands about them to their practitioners. Proud of you for standing up to the wiles of the devil through those doctors. I thank God also for your husband and family that they practice the love of God as it’s preached.

This made me cry so much. I had pre-eclampsia when I had my first child, after 4 miscarriages and I almost died, but God said no. The doctors said it was a miracle because they were only going in to save me but my daughter came without any organ damage and after 2 days of being in the neonatal unit, her oxygen saturation was back to normal. The doctor that ordered my emergency Cs was in shock because everything happened so fast, she came to see me 2 days after the delivery in the ward and told me that they were just going in to save me, she explained that my baby was drowning in my blood because my placenta had already come off. My daughter turned 10 this year and I am more than grateful. I thank God for you and your family Adeola. I am a proud mum of 5 kids now, I judge God faithful ❤.

My sister experienced a very difficult child birth 3 years ago, but what you experienced is just on another level. Women go through a lot during pregnancy and child birth. I am glad you pulled through. You're a very tough woman, considering how you were able to shoot videos and make us smile. I never imagined you were in so much pain.

While watching this video, I was reflecting on how God made it easy for me and my wife to have 3 amazing kids. You are very correct Adeola marriage is 100% and not 50/50, gender roles doesn't count in marriage. I am super proud of your husband, he has demonstrated what a real husband is suppose to be. They need to be fully involved in the pregnancy from beginning to the end. 3. health workers: apart from the expert treatment you give, how to communicate is also life saving. 4. Friends and other extended family members: your support in any form is critical and forms an important part of the treatment. 5. Government: more commitment to improve healthcare in Nigeria

I tell you, it was God's hands that held him all the while...some women didn't go through as much bleeding and either lost their children or birthed deformed babies.

Am happy for you Adeola. As a nurse, I have seen pulomonary embolism (PE): blood in the lungs kill patients in a twinkle of an eye. Am glad you survived it. In America, black patients are still been overlooked for their health complaints, statisitic showed. Glory be to God.

@The_Cruise_Fam I wish you were right, but it actually depends on the individual regardless of race or gender. I had two black female doctors refuse to give me pain medication knowing I was in excruciating pain. I passed out 4 different times from so much pain but they kept citing that as a reason not to give me adequate pain management. I had to sign an MA and run away to another hospital where a female Asian doctor put me on a PCA pump. Thank God I am home today because someone finally listened to me. Unfortunately, advocating for yourself is dependent on someone listening to you. I had to go to a different hospital at 2am in the morning to get good health care here in the US. In fact I am still traumatized by my experience.

Hi Adeola, I'm so happy for you. I was in tears at the point you were crying cos my wife went through this same thing as well and I remember being worn out and refusing to leave her alone at the hospital cos I didn't trust the doctors to do the right thing without me following up with close markings. Women who bleed during or after pregnancy are simply in the hands of God especially in countries with less medical equipments. Thank God for the doctors who worked on my wife during her pregnancy, and thank God for making me shout so that things got done. I'm happy for you and your husband and glad your second child is here.
I shed tears watching this video because my wife went through similar experiences for our twins, although not as tough as yours. One thing that struck me was when you mentioned black pregnant women in the US. We lost 2 pregnancies and the 2nd loss was clearly hospital negligence . We arrived the emergency for premature contractions and she was left unattended for more than 2 hours.

I completely lost it when you mentioned the Nigerian woman that passed through the same ordeal and was told by the Nigerian doctors that there is nothing they can do to save her life!. I still mentioned you and your family in my morning devotion today to thank God again for spearing your life and that of your son. I watched till the end,in tears, because I went through almost a similar pregnancy like yours. God was faithful to me too, He always is. My firstborn is Zion too, a girl, and her pregnancy was super easy. This wasn't easy at all... Can't say it all here but I'm very grateful for your life and mine. Every new day is indeed a gift.

I’m 62, born in 1961 in Pennsylvania . A friend of mine, same age and born in the same city as I, told me that her mother almost passed away after giving birth to her. From what she told me, her mother was bleeding to death internally. But no one at the hospital knew what to do. But there happened to be a doctor from another country visiting the hospital. This doctor was elsewhere in the hospital, just being given a tour. Hospital staff called him in on the case and immediately he knew what was happening and what to do. Her mother was given blood transfusions and other treatments which saved her life. I thank God that doctors were present who knew what to do in my friend’s mother’s case and in the case of this woman sharing her experiences in this video. God surely worked through those doctors. My own mother, who married in 1951, had 5 miscarriages before I was born in 1961. It’s so important for women to share their experiences. God bless all of you. ❤️🙏

Thus, a white persons complaints are taking more seriously than a black person. That was the case with the one doctor trying to tell Adeola that she just has a low pain tolerance. They dismiss us easily or act like we are drug seeking just because of the stereotype.

Thank you for sharing. I could hold my tears because i had placenta privia, cord also holding my baby so badly. The Anastasia giving to me started fading off due to long time trying to manage the complications, i started feeling the raw pain as they put their hands in and out of me...at a point my spirit could no longer carry the pain and was leaving by raising my chest up and down but prayers were on going and i saw two angels came over me and locked their hands over me, preventing my spirit from leaving...that was how i stayed and miraculously survived it and got out. After which, the baby needed oxygen while i needed blood ...memories i can never forget.

Well said. I remember when i had sepsis after my Caesarean section. I kept telling my husband and doctors around me that something was wrong with me but most people said i was just being lazy. It took them 2 weeks for them to detect what was wrong after i was transferred to another hospital.

Sometimes I don’t think it has to do with color. I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer last year. My 1st primary care physician was from Ghana but she never took me serious. It took a white doctor to really listen to my complaints and send me for necessary tests. Eventually I was diagnosed and truth be told almost all my Care team are white except my radiation oncologist who was Indian but these people treated me like I’m family they were so kind to me. Now I’m rounding up my treatment, a breast cancer survivor thanks to white doctors. So let’s not generalize pls. There are many good white folks out there, doctors inclusive.

All pepole (even fellow Black people) don't take other Black people seriously most of the time. So, if your life is in danger you have to fight for yourself as a Black person. I had to watch this video a second time to really take it in! What an amazing testimony. Nurses are taught to advocate for their patients, but sometimes you are your own best advocate. No one knows better what you’re going through than yourself.
So many patients have been written off when doctors cannot pinpoint the cause of their complaints, but thank God for patients like Adeola that refused to be quiet!!

Lord!!! I wept with you so much when you spoke about going into your second surgery and Victor helplessly watching you go.
My sister is B- she had 7 miscarriages with over 2 sets of twins, lost them all, the same symptoms you had and with a husband who cared more about his political career. I watched my dad cry profusely after one of the miscarriages as he held the foetus in his hand (it had popped out suddenly one morning when she went to the bathroom). It was such a difficult period for our family.
God finally rewarded her with a boy who looks exactly like my dad, he's 12 now. Her husband didn't even pay hospital bills. She left him after many years, remarried such a good caring man who made sure she had the best healthcare ever and now they have a daughter and she's pregnant again and vibrant. None of those symptoms have reappeared and my parents will be welcoming their 13th grandchild in February.
My heart goes out to those who died ignorant. Healthcare is definitely important.

😢 I didn't plan to watch this but it just popped up in my device and I started watching it. My daughter who had a fresh still birth in the US February 2023 due to placenta abruptio, lost a pregnancy in again July and she is pregnant again and has been bleeding. Each time a scan is done, she's told that the fetal heartbeat is still there. She is been managed at the hospital on full bed rest. 10 weeks gone.

🤩 I am a 64 year old nurse who had been practicing nursing in the USA for over 30 years now and a mother of 5(twin included). I am grateful to God for your life and your testimony. I am glad you chose to share this to let people be aware of the mercies of the Lord! I had never experienced such things, but I have taken care of a fellow nurse in my home who came from Nigeria then to have her baby. This was 1999 and she had the baby in March 2000. She experienced placenta preavia. I took care of my bosom friend for five months so I remembered all those bleeding, middle of the night rushing to the hospital with her and my husband. The lesson on Rh negative was great too. I hope people learned to always disclose their history or anything that stands about them to their practitioners. Proud of you for standing up to the wiles of the devil through those doctors.

This made me cry so much. I had pre-eclampsia when I had my first child, after 4 miscarriages and I almost died, but God said no. The doctors said it was a miracle because they were only going in to save me but my daughter came without any organ damage and after 2 days of being in the neonatal unit, her oxygen saturation was back to normal. The doctor that ordered my emergency Cs was in shock because everything happened so fast, she came to see me 2 days after the delivery in the ward and told me that they were just going in to save me, she explained that my baby was drowning in my blood because my placenta had already come off. My daughter turned 10 this year and I am more than grateful. I thank God for you and your family Adeola.

@The_Cruise_Fam I wish you were right, but it actually depends on the individual regardless of race or gender. I had two black female doctors refuse to give me pain medication knowing I was in excruciating pain. I passed out 4 different times from so much pain but they kept citing that as a reason not to give me adequate pain management. I had to sign an MA and run away to another hospital where a female Asian doctor put me on a PCA pump. Thank God I am home today because someone finally listened to me. Unfortunately, advocating for yourself is dependent on someone listening to you. I had to go to a different hospital at 2am in the morning to get good health care here in the US. In fact I am still traumatized by my experience.

Hi Adeola, I'm so happy for you. I was in tears at the point you were crying cos my wife went through this same thing as well and I remember being worn out and refusing to leave her alone at the hospital cos I didn't trust the doctors to do the right thing without me following up with close markings. Women who bleed during or after pregnancy are simply in the hands of God especially in countries with less medical equipments. Thank God for the doctors who worked on my wife during her pregnancy, and thank God for making me shout so that things got done. I'm happy for you and your husband and glad your second child is here.
I shed tears watching this video because my wife went through similar experiences for our twins, although not as tough as yours. One thing that struck me was when you mentioned black pregnant women in the US. We lost 2 pregnancies and the 2nd loss was clearly hospital negligence . We arrived the emergency for premature contractions and she was left unattended for more than 2 hours.

I watched till the end,in tears, because I went through almost a similar pregnancy like yours. God was faithful to me too, He always is. My firstborn is Zion too, a girl, and her pregnancy was super easy. This wasn't easy at all... Can't say it all here but I'm very grateful for your life and mine. Every new day is indeed a gift.
