    I love the fact that your channel tends to focus more on low end hardware. Especially with the gpu and cpu market being what they are right now I think there's still a lot of people out there playing on old hardware and it's nice to see that. I like building low spec gaming pcs from older hardware as a hobby and I think it's a very good thing to try and reuse the parts as opposed to letting them go to the landfill as e-waste. That case I believe is the CIT Raider, to get the fans to spin you need to look for the fan hub, you can see that at 3:52 on the right hand side labelled “BOX” there will be two little pins on it that you want to short out with something like a old motherboard jumper and they should spin right up.

  • @TridonsEve
    @TridonsEve 3 роки тому +1

    I'm running a 2300X now, but I'm running 2933 MHz RAM with fairly tight timings. This CPU is impressive for only being 4/4 c/t, and out of the box it will boost to 3.87 GHz all cores (roughly 800 MHz more than a stock 1200).
    About half of retailers here sold this CPU, so it was quite easy to buy until mid last year. Now I can only find it sold by two retailers. Red Dead Redemption 2 runs well on it too.

  • @Numcelot
    @Numcelot 3 роки тому +3

    That case is the CIT Raider RGB. Usually it has an RGB Fan controller included which allows for the motherboard reset switch to be connected for fan control. Might be why the fans aren't spinning.

    • @Numcelot
      @Numcelot 3 роки тому +1

      I'm intimately familiar with this case and other CIT cases, honestly this PC looks a LOT like one of the PCs we make at the UK-based pc store I work at, almost thought it could be one of ours because we sell on ebay but the stickers on the front don't look like the ones we use. CIT cases tend to be fine, especially for the price, if you want RGB these things can come in full ATX sizes with tempered glass and many included ARGB fans for under 60 GBP, even less when you bulk order them hence why a lot of pc vendors will use these. I've found them to be very temperamental (around 1 in 8 will end up having some sort of fault, especially the raiders cause those fan controllers suck, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you found a couple of the fan controller ports bent or broken because getting the fan connectors in is a nightmare.) It might also interest you to know that CIT recently released an 'airflow' focused version of this exact case, might be a cool video idea to to a comparison with this system having the tempered glass front panel vs the new airflow one.

    I bought a 2300x a few weeks back for about 80USD, for a secondary system, and it performs well enough for the price. Definitely wish it was threaded, but as a test machine CPU it works out just fine. Glad to see someone do more with it

  • @EmperorSheepy
    @EmperorSheepy 3 роки тому

    The case is a CIT Raider. The fan/LED controller (with the BOX label on it) should come with a remote control. As the fans use a proprietary connector for both the LEDs and the fan power, there is unfortunately no way to connect them to the board, and the controller doesn't have a PWM sync cable. The only way to get those fans working to my knowledge would be with a replacement remote (unless of course you were supplied with the original).
    Source: I work for a system integrator and we use CIT cases.

    Witcher 3 engine is building up shader cache on the go when you play the game for the first time on a fresh system - that's why you see some stutter which is later gone. I was worried about my system when I i first player Witcher, but later on I discovered that these stutters are in fact intended and Red Engine is just built this way. Whenever You start playing another game/reinstall drivers etc, Shader cache file will be deleted and you have to start building it again (that is the case with Nvidia).

    The case is a CiT Raider RGB, the fans aren't spinning because it requires a remote which has a fan button with 3 speed settings as well as the usual RGB controls... a way around this issue is to wire the the fan port of the RGB controller, which is a labelled 'BOX' to the reset switch of the case... (literally plug the reset switch cable into the RGB / Fan controller)... the CiT Raider is a nice case for a micro Atx budget build, I have 2 of them... but the airflow from the front is poor & the space for cable management or builds including full ATX mobos sucks... Anyway... hope this helps... maybe a fix in a follow up video?...

    That the R5/R7 were so close in performance I would not notice that much of an improvement.

    As far as I remember the RX570 struggles with shader performance, although not as much as the 550 obviously :P It's got good bandwidth and texture/model heavy games should do fine on it, but post processing will kill performance.
    A Hat In Time is actually surprisingly performance heavy, an RX550 needs to be dropped to 720p to get any kind of playable performance. Might be worth adding to the list.

    I'm always a bit shocked and disappointed at the number of pre-built "gaming" PCs that have all glass front panels that completely obstruct proper ventilation! Gamers Nexus has had a field day with other pre-built PCs that have the exact same issue over the past couple of years.
    The worst part is a good case like the Lian Li 215 doesn't cost a whole lot more, has fans with built in RGB and crazy good air flow since the front is see thru mesh instead of glass.
    Still though it's not a bad PC for someone wanting to get their foot into PC gaming and play more of the lighter e-sport type games with.
