Filmmaker Girish Kasaravlli at the Venice Film Festival for the world premiere of 'Ghatashraddha'

Just a few hours before the world premiere of Girish Kasaravalli’s acclaimed Kannada film "Ghatashraddha" (1977) at the Venice Film Festival today! “The film was done almost four decades back. We had lost the (picture) negative and the sound negative and I though I will never be able to watch the film again, but today with Shivendra and the support from Martin Scorsese and the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation we have been able to restore the film,” recalls Girish Kasaravalli at the Venice Film Festival.
