DAPTO WARD....HI david. ...being watching your videos since your joining the church.....I served in Dapto branch back in 1987 as a missionary from New Zealand.....loved the area lots and the people..... safe travels David.
David, my grandfather was in the 2nd group of missionaries that went to Australia in about 1902. It took him six weeks to get there and he was seasick the entire journey. I still have his triple combination (the first ever published) from that time. He was the son of two pioneers (father and grandfather). The grandfather was in Nauvoo and was assigned by Brigham Young with a half dozen others to guard the temple until the brethren could return to dedicate it. Of course, the temple was struck by lightning and destroyed the next year after it was dedicated. But if you go to the duplicate Nauvoo Temple (which is outwardly identical) you will wonder HOW such a magnificent structure could have been built by frontier Americans...there is nothing to compare with it up and down the Mississippi...which, at that time, was the frontier borderline.
Elder Woody is excited to meet you. He will be grateful for the package you are delivering. David, you are legendary as the most recent "golden investigator" of the Australia Sydney Mission. I'm sure you will have a nugget or two of gospel knowledge to share.
Thanks David. You’re an inspiration to so many. I use to live in Australia years ago with my family. I was north in Queensland, Bundaberg and Gold Coast. I love AUS and miss it.
When did you become an Aussie citizen and do you still have US citizenship? I grew up in Australia after my family moved out there when I was 6. Joined the church in California in 86. Went back for the last time in 88. Got on the plane to return to CA and the spirit said “ you’re going home”. Met my husband and married in the Los Angeles temple the next year. Never been back since but would still like to go see some relies with my husband. I have referred to your videos several times when teaching or bearing testimony. Really enjoy your sincere enthusiasm and sticking up for the church. Have a great trip!
I truly love your authentic message. It is real and I love your energy. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and be courageous. We need more people like you. Enjoy and be safe.
Make sure you declare that food. Lol! I know you are a seasoned traveller and know everything about travel, so you know all that already, right? Smooth flight and can’t wait to hear from you again. Lots of luv from this old lady from Auckland, Zealand. 🩷
If you get the opportunity when you’re in Idaho go to the Pocatello Idaho temple. It is a beautiful temple! My husband and I were the missionaries watching over the construction of this temple. We had a great mission. We also met many wonderful people while in Idaho.
I’m at our daughter’s XC meet and saw the notification and had to stop and listen before she runs!🤣🤣 Ok! How exciting! That will be fun to see the ol Daptoe ward! Make a video of your peeps there! 🙌
You are very much a traveling man.. I pray all goes well and that you accomplish all that you need to do there. Also be careful when you get back when you are driving that potato truck. Let us know how everything is going. Much Love.
If you happen to be in Idaho Falls area on Saturday Sept 21st, come to Spud Day in Shelley. You can root for the missionaries competing in a game of tug-of-war over a pit of mashed potatoes.
Excited for you David! I grew up in Ammon, Idaho, which is as a previous commentor stated right next to Idaho Falls. A great place. I used to work at the potato factory in Shelley Idaho which back then was called French’s, like the mustard. I think something that would be helpful is a condensed dialogue that a member of the Church of Jesus, Christ of latter day Saints, and a non-latter-day Saint Christian would have. If they used this scripture then we could use these scriptures. Then if they talked about the Trinity and used their favorite scripture, then we could use the following scriptures, and so on. I served my mission in Oklahoma and I had a list of scriptures that supported our views from the New Testament. That was 40+ years ago and I don’t have it any longer but it was very helpful. Just a thought for you to consider. Ben
David, Tom Holm is a friend of mine. He was the age of my younger brother who took my Etch a Sketch to school that I got for Christmas and traded it to him for a match box car! Of course it was without my permission!🤪. A few months later that same little brother was hit on his bike by a car and killed so needless to say, I don’t still hold that against him.😢. I would love to meet you while you are up driving truck for Tom.
I have never been to Education Week or the Women's Conference at BYU. I have always wanted to go, but life doesn't always give you what you want. I pray you have a safe trip and get everything done you need to do. God Bless You!!
I really wanted to run into you at Education Week, but I couldn't make it this year. I hope you got to see one of Joseph Price's talks on family history involvement and technology.
😮Bishop Bernard Price in Idaho Falls blessed me when I was 11 years old. I was screaming in pain. As soon as the blessing ended the pain left. It was in my kidney area. If the pain hadn't have left my parents would have taken me to the hospital.
Australia! Way fun! I guess you don’t hang around with kangaroos. 70 degrees-That’s not much of a winter. Have fun and scatter sunshine in Australia! 🥰🌞🦘
