Broke or not that Dovetail was Beautiful, I would just hold my thumb over that broke part and admire it like it was whole lol, that was one of the prettiest Dovetails I've ever seen,that little blunt looked like it was made out of the same material as well? It's like a blueish flint eh? I don't think I've ever found any of that type in my neck of the woods and that adena was pretty sweet too, Great Finds All Around Congratulations On All Of Them...GL&HH✌

The experts are telling me the dove is spokeshave. I’ve found several early archaic pieces with the same kind of damage on one side of the blade. You can tell it’s ancient damage but it still ruins the perfect symmetry. Thanks
I thought it looked like a spokeshave but its hard to really tell unless its in your hand. I love those multi use use pieces! With a piece that nice, I sure would've figured out a way to get more use out of it if I was that guy! Did it make it into one of your frames or cases?!

A well deserved spot in the case! But heck yeah man, I've finally gotten a bit of free time to post a vid or 2. Ive been wearing it out though... I've found about 40-50 complete artifacts so far this year. One of my best starts to the year so far! I pulled a motley a few weeks ago about the same size as your dovetail and of similar quality. It'll be in a vid I'm putting out tomorrow!

Well Ben, it really is a shame that Dovetail was broken. It looked like it could be a recent break. I'm near 74 and been finding heartbreakers since a young boy. I have around my bird bath in my front yard hundreds of heartbreakers. Good luck to you guys on your future hunts. Take care and God Bless!

I was told it was spokeshave, the native hit bone and knocked the side out. It is an odd looking break, doesn’t look like an implement hit. I don’t know for sure, but I sure would have liked to find it whole. Thanks Tom.

@@HeartbreakerRelics I look forward to seeing y'all get back in the creeks, I enjoy watching all y'alls videos but I especially enjoy the creek hunts, I myself haven't had much luck in creeks although I did find my NICEST creek point ever a few weeks ago, I think it's a Kirk's corner notch and that's a real rarity for me to find something so nice in the creek even though I walk creeks all the time the majority of my heads have come off the lake bottom when the water goes down every fall but there's just something special to me seeing a nice point come out of the creek, hope y'all clean up on them, GL&HH👍
I found a perfect dove tail in the mountains here. Shape and fully intact. The tip was sticking out of a fresh mole hill. Best arrowhead I've ever found or ever seen. I'll never forget that day because I has fishing along the creek and just happened to find it. Any other time when actually hunting for them I don't find anything like that one.

The Dove at 3:07 is a heartbreaker, but it is still frame worthy for the workmanship. What a bevel, what a knapper, to be able to resharpen such fine material in the way he did! Beautiful piece any way you see it!

We were walking the same field where Ben found the Banner. Ben works with his dad all day so I think he wants to rock hunt and hang out with his uncle jack, Hee Haw. When a point breaks like that in ancient times it doesn’t always patina or patina near as hard as the flat face of the artifact. It very well could be an old break. The greenbrier I recently found was this way. Reworked for sure but patina is different in the old breaks. I could be wrong about mine maybe it is just broken either way I’m stoked about the find. I’d love to see a clean up of that dovetail tho. What a site y’all! Congratulations on the killer memories. I must ask... are Benny and his sons shoes wallabies or Clark’s? I grew up in those if so

I always wonder what was found a hundred years ago or so back in the manual labor days. Did the help pick it up, were they interested, give to the farmer?
I would guess most old timers wouldn’t care much about them, but you know someone did. There are artifacts pictured in magazines that were found in the 1800’s. I remember when I was very young my grandfather picked up a huge flint knife and threw it in a creek. He was worried it would puncture a tractor tire because it was very sharp. To this day I wish I knew exactly where it was.
