Although this is just my personal opinion my answer will be :- Aram and Mourad both had good intentions about the horse and they were not trying to sell it.
It's difficult to say whether it can be considered stealing or not
It can be considered stealing based on the fact that they took the horse without the permission of the owner secretly and John byro definitely thought that his horse was stolen. We as readers, from a third person point of view have understood that they didn't have any bad intentions towards the horse and were going to return it eventually so we cannot consider it exactly as stealing. We will feel like they just borrowed the horse.
But for John byro his horse was stolen, he didn't knew by whom and their true intentions for him it was simply stolen but at the end of the story his thoughts may have changed considering the fact his horse was returned with even better conditions.
So it is hard to say whether they had stolen the horse or not.
Something I just wanted to rant about no need to read this long answer.

Although Mourad and Aram returned the horse eventually, and their intentions were just to fulfil their wish. But even then it's called Stealing. They both could have asked John Byro for the horse riding, He would definitely not have denied. But they chose the wrong way to fulfil their dream.

we can not call it stealing ,because if we steal something we don't return it back and sell it .they both return the horse and their intentions were good too..so,it can't be called stealing.

Yes, it can be called a stealing coz murrad had stolen from the farmer silently and didn't return for a long time.Though his intentions were not worst but his way of stealing was not good
yes the horse has been stolen by mourad because he has taken the horse out of john Byro possession without his consent , thus he had performed stealing .But he can be pardoned for his mistake because he was only a 13 year old child and his itnension was not to keep the horse with himself but to return it after some time
