I myself have no fcking idea, whether I'm part of the community or not (As I'm 20 years old and have never been im love), but tbh I don't care. I'm not going to pride days, but for a whole lot of different reasons. But I still have a rainbow flag on my door to show my friends they're welcome and to normalise the thought to my parents (which seems to be working). I think it's importent to make sure it's not for me personally but for everyone. The LGBTQIA+ Scene is big - everyone is important - and my voice alone doesn't change things but the voice of everyone together. It should be normal to show your voice, to make yourself heard, but that's not a reason to get a medal. As an Ally we might not (or better: have not) felt the hurt, but we can try to listen, and noone can listen when they're talking themselves. What I wanted to say? Go, make yourself heard, but don't expect an medal for it. You didn't do something extraordinary, you did something that should be normal. And don't pretent to be someone you are not, never.
"I just want them to shut the fuck up" couldn't have said it better myself. The problem is mostly when they start trying to speak for us or talk over us.
