Insane Topwater Fishing off Exmouth | Launching Mackerel and Landbased Lure Fishing

Its often those last minute trips that can turn up the most memorable of sessions, and it was no difference on this trip to the north west of Western Australia. The fishing up here is truly breath-taking, and from the first cast of the day from the back of the boat to the last cast from a flooding sand cay, the pelagic fishing action was ON! In between all of this, the boys had a mental session with spanish mackerel launching around the boat on surface stickbaits and poppers, which has to be just about the most exciting form of fishing this area has to offer. All up, the crew tallied up a big land-based coral trout, a huge queenfish from the beach, stacks of various trevally species on spin and fly, numerous spanish mackerel and even longtail tuna. Anywhere where fish move into the shallows on an incoming tide should produce some good sportsfishing.
