I agree with everything you said, I have one flying and one in the box just to make sure I have parts or the whole plane if they discontinue it. Has to be my favorite plane although it doesn’t make it to the field very often, same with the Corsair and I am running the Corsair on 8s 😇

This plane is fantastic. I love mine. It is a great flyer for a 12 pound plane. I got 77 mph level flight on my GPS. When I fly it at the field even the guys that fly the giant balsas think it’s great. If I wrecked it, I’d buy a new one tomorrow.

Brian, next year think about raking a fine sandy loam over the grass to smooth it out. The grass grows through it and you can have a nice flat runway for grass ops!

We're getting the pond dig started in the next week or so, and hopefully we'll get some material we can use to top dress the front, and really get it smooth, but even still, out yard is and will always be a huge undertaking to keep on top of. Beautiful plane. @Brian about the issues with the water decals with surface irregularities i would recommend using "micro-sol" / "micro-set" . I used them a lot when building display models, and also RC models ... 13 years ago. They help a lot with mold markings and panel lines giving them a more paint like finish.

Back in the 80s and 90s to build a plane and get it ready to fly you could tie up quite a bit of money. These planes are actually quite a bargain for all that you get plus flight ready in a short time.

not for me. in the 90s and 00s the stuff at Top Gun was looking like this and was 4-5 figures. so 600 with easily repairable/paintable foam is a bargain to me!

@@ammarali5134 LMAO. Bro look at the size of this thing, the panel and rivet detail, oleos, twin systems, all predone wiring and cable runs, you literally cannot build this big of a scale stunner for less. 300 gets you a timber.... this is a bargain for the sheer size and presence it has.

I have the F7F 1700mm. Yes, she is wonderful to fly, I also put in twin Avian 60amps ESC's with AR631 Rx iX14 Tx... I just can't figure out the Battery telemetry to display properly. It thinks it's running from 2 batteries when there is only one. I haven't tried to program reverse yet. Here Kitty Kitty is the livery I did. My first landing was a successful mistake, I misjudged the distance to where i wanted to be and she just buttered herself in... Lol.😂 Maybe I might try the AR8360T??? See what that does. I didnt put in the Battery eliminator circuit that came with it. Avian ESC's have plenty of voltage capabilities from the mosfets.
