Awesome stuff man! Glad to own this one myself. Word of warning make sure to keep his mouth open. Instructions say to avoid from keeping his jaw closed for long periods of time to avoid the rubber from tearing.
My first Grogu life size is the Sideshow version, I was planning on buying the Hot Toys version after seeing some reviews. Good thing I waited. It's designed to be articulated with limitations due to ripping. It's a shame.
I am hoping maybe someone comes up with a fix for the chin tearing, like some kind of a bonding agent. I'm thinking when I get mine I'm just going to not mess with the mouth. It comes slightly open, that pose is okay by me and I would rather not have it rip!
yeah lots of reports with the mouth. People are also saying there's specific instructions on the manual to not keep the mouth closed for prolonged periods. sounds like a big flaw.
I am with you and the others about the jaw. It was a known flaw and HT sent it out anyway with a "warning" in a little slip of paper. Really a warning about something HT pitched in all its glossy detailers- the mouth closed and looking so cute doing it.
I think the articulated mouth was a last minute thing. He was going to just have a slightly open mouth. Since they changed it and didn't change the sculpt it made the chin tighter with the closed mouth. He needed a little extra skin there. Keeping the mouth slightly open should avoid a rip.
That video made me cry, she's such a sweetheart! I noticed she completely closed the mouth, they say in the instructions to not leave it closed for too long. Still, at nearly $500 it shouldn't have that problem!
I would get the Sideshow statue anytime over this version. Anyways, I am happy with my customized Mattel boy. I did also not get the supercute Hasbro animatronic Grogu, because I do not like that rubber/latex faces even one bit.
