Actually, I was actually watching this Dragon's Den video and actually, I couldn't believe how actually entertaining it was. Actually, the entrepreneur was pitching a website that actually sells a wide variety of items, and actually, the Dragons were trying to understand the concept. Actually, the back-and-forth between the Dragons and the entrepreneur was actually so funny. Actually, they were asking all sorts of questions about the logistics and actually how the website would manage to sell so many different items. Actually, the entrepreneur's responses were actually pretty amusing. Actually, you could see the Dragons trying to wrap their heads around the business model and actually, it led to some hilarious moments. Actually, the whole pitch was quite a spectacle. Actually, it's one of those pitches you actually need to watch because it's actually so entertaining!
You guys realize that whoever is running the channel typed "Doug" instead of "Duncan" on purpose to make so many people comment, right? Commenting helps the algorithm. This channel won. Well done.
I was working on production side for 2 series of this show, Duncan was being called Doug by makeup lady whole time so I think it's an inside joke. Duncan easy to contact if you want to confirm.
Not really. Something doesn't add up. If you can secure a 150 thousand loan from the bank, why give away even 5% of your company for 50 thousand? Why can't you fung your business from your profit if it's that profitable?
I do not get it. Why people before the show they do not ask themselves: Would I accept it, if they want 10%/20%/30% ? You have plenty of time to think before, instead of trying to decide on the spot.
It's not pushy sales, if it's facts... And if the facts do stack up, then the negative feelings should be pushed. Peter would have been the best choice!
*My dream DD set up:* - Deborah "The Blood Hound" Meaden - Duncan "Ludicrous" Ballantyne - Steven "TikTok" Bartlett - Theo "The Destroyer" Paphitis - Peter "The Giant" Jones I think the 5 of them together will create enough drama to make me bring out the popcorn for every episode. 🍿🍿🍿
Absolutely ripped off! .. Set for 500k this year with 400k in stock and 150k debt, and sells 20% for 50k valuing the company at 250k - that is moronic! But the guy was an excellent business man - if he fundraised capital online I would have invested.
If i had to get advice I'd choose Duncan over spoiled brat Deborah any day of the week. A self made millionaire will always trump over someone who had a rich mummy and daddy
For what it's worth, this guy absolutely nailed every numbers question they asked him
I miss having Duncan on the Den, he was the rebel of the group.
After his court case I don't think the BBC would have him on again
He really made the difference between North and South

You mean Dougborah?
It was nuts that they started arguing straight away out of nowhere

Fair play to Samwell Tarly for starting his own business
Omg I can’t unsee it now, his mannerisms are spot on
This deal fell through, btw. There's nothing at Companies House about Bannatyne receiving any shares. Company went into liquidation in 2014.
You suck. I will never understand why people spoil a whole video with their comments.
Should have went with Peter who would have sky rocketed his business
Company ended up failing in the end and why would anyone sell 20% of a business for 50k when it will make 500k profit that year, so dumb.
to much inventory, buncha debt, no working capital.. thats why
You kinda were on track with your comment? Why would they? Because they were headed to bankruptcy.
Because you play the percentages. You can have 100% of nothing or 80% of something big. Having 80% of something big will make you more money!
I think some of the guests on the show are more interested in exposure than investment.
The profit all goes back into inventory and paying off debt, so is tied up there. He is trapped in a cycle he can't get out of unless he has a few hundred grand extra for working capital. The hope would be to grow to a level where he can sell the company and get out with a few million.
