Only one woman has ever argued with me like that. She’ now my ex-wife, and she didn’t get a cent in the divorce. The brother cooking the meal : 1) My advice is to never ever tell her you going to take her to any restaurant and leave it at that. If you do plant on cooking, before you do, tell her that the restaurant is on a certain fixed date and before you do that you plant to cook dinner for her and so on. Check her reaction.
2) I cooked dinner for a girl. Before I did so , I never told her I was taking her to any restaurant. The moment she arrived she asked me why I had cooked all that dinner for her.
I told her I wanted to serve her and try to do something more personal and more romantic and very intimate.
She told me I should have asked her what she preferred to eat first. She told me I should have thought it was important to know what mattered to her the most for dinner and what things she did not like and what she did love to eat.
