Honestly this 'game' is a great way to show how AIs like ChatGPT work. There's no object permanence or recognizing the input, only the AI trying to approximate what should come next with no context.
I like how Drew Gooden described it as an advanced word suggest, it’s just trying to fill the space with whatever it thinks makes sense
ChatGPT does actually have a memory of a dozen or two thousand words but whatever
It does have memory with the context window, it's just terrible at utilizing it right now. It can barely remember what's ON the screen right now, let alone what's offscreen.
Not really.. I mean, I see what you're getting at.. But that's not how ChatGPT works in the slightest, and there's no comparison in implementation. ChatGPT and similar AIs have rather good context windows now, which is the equivalent of "object permanence" in text, and addresses the issues you're describing. They've moved past merely predicting the next word, and are capable of reasoning within the model processing, in the latest models.
@@NikoKunI’ve used them, they’re *okay* at it, but I’ve had to remind them of context many times because they decided not to use it.

in case anybody's curious, its basically been trained on a lot of footage of minecraft combined with info about inputs performed during the footage. so there isnt actually any game. instead what its doing is basically predicting how the image will change when u press a button.
