    One of the cleanest builds, of one of the nicest printers, good job!

    Very nice to see these printers get more publicity! Awesome build and color choice.
    I'm so tempted to build one of these, but I need a larger build volume. My choices are to either wait for the K3+ or build one of Annex's larger designs like the K2.

      There's lots to love about the K3, but am not going to lie, I am struggling a bit with tuning it. It's a different beast than the Vorons I am used to.

      @@livedeliciously I hope so. I am now getting consistently good to great results on my Voron 2.4, so the K3 has a ways to go to match it.

      I figure a higher limit for performance means more tuning required. Keep the videos coming please! I've watched all your K3 videos so far. @@oldguymeltsplastic

    Great build. I have the fabreeko kit sitting ready to put together (i need to print the parts though -- its red, so i'm really leaning to doing green or blue for most of the plastic parts). I definitely will be doing the large display like you did. We will have to move out of our house for 2 months while we have our kitchen remodeled, and I want to have some more portable printers I can take with me to the house we've rented. Can't take my entire shop with me, but will be taking bambu X1C, k3, and maybe I can get my Voron 2.4 (350) -- with me.

      Once I replace the very capable but noisy HoneyBadger fans used for cooling the electronics bay with some quieter Noctuas, I will be able to use this after bed time. With the printer in my home office 10 feet away from the bedroom, those fans are too loud for night time use.

      Big fan of noctua for electronics cooling I have them on my Trident. I think I am going to be doing a Pandora or TriZero since I have much of required parts as spares! next then may consider an annex they look like pretty well performing machines!!

      That is the Waveshare 7.9 inch DSI (also available with HDMI if you prefer).

    I'd swap the ebox fans for arctics or noctuas 8025. they are cheap, and max at 13db.

    What was the reasoning behind the rotated door position?

    • @oldguymeltsplastic
      @oldguymeltsplastic  8 місяців тому +1

      I often stare into my printers as they lay down the layers of plastic onto the build plate. I find it meditative. By swapping the door and the right panel, the view I get is of the hotend front, rather than a part cooling fan. Also because the hotend cooling fan is mounted "behind" the hotend, removing the sock for nozzle swaps becomes much easier.

      Minsekt released the printed part to support the Waveshare 7.9" HDMI on the Annex Engineering GitHub in their User Mods.
      I remixed the part in the slicer to fit the Waveshare 7.9" DSI.

    With panels It costs more then bambulab x1 carbon 256 mm 😮
    Or like 2 bambulab p1p 256 mm

      Cost isn't usually the primary decision point for DIY printer enthusiasts.

    • @gedeonang7077

      Not to burst any bubbles but Bambu Lab X1C is just (capability wise) far inferior compared to these printers. It reaches a chamber temp of 45-50c stock which is just sad and ABS or any other more technical material won't print nice and strong. A k3 or voron with well insulated panels can go to around 70c (mostly). They are also definitely faster than an X1C if tuned well, and without super aggressive input shaper or pressure advance values that rounds corners and details and reduces strength of parts by not properly filling perimeters. And EM/flow calibration is important for strength. For someone printing toys with PLA or something, and not caring abt layer adhesion, strength, functional materials for functional parts etc, they will probably think the X1C is so fantastic. But for someone using an FDM printer for a more useful reason and for more functional parts that require good strength, these hobbyist printers just blow the X1C away.

      @oldguymeltsplastic  8 місяців тому

      @@gedeonang7077 100% agree with you, but as you stated, there are different printers that are ideally suited for different use cases. I would rather not have the comments on my videos devolve into "my printer is better than your printer" arguments.
