  • What is a Common Box Hedging Plant? Well in this video, Morris talks you through the Common Box hedging plant.
Common Box (Buxus sempervirens) is the popular variety often seen in formal gardens and used for topiary, perfect for all hedges small or large (if you are patient!).
The Common Box comes in a range of sizes and we sell them as potted, bare root plants, rootballed or instant hedging troughs.

March 2023 Late Summer in New Zealand. Thanks for your video and especially for the excellent article on your website about dealing with Box Blight. You have given me hope that I may save my blighted hedges and topiary!

I just planted some buxus about 3 weeks ago probably about the size of the 1.5ltr pot size. Should I trim these down a little to encourage growth at this stage or just leave them to grow and merge together. I 've been giving them a good drink everyday in this hot sun where having right now. Any tips would be welcome though to get them going as fast as possible. Although I do realise there a slow grower 😭

If I wanted to plant the boxes sempervirens hedging. The 9 centimetre hight size. How close together do I plant them. As they work out at £2:00 a plant!

You usually work on a basis of 5 per metre however for that size I’d probably go with 6 or 7.
