Man.. you just opened up my game so much with that simple point you made : "green means go". I usually just play off of instinct.. but maybe thats why layup drive takes are so powerful this year. Maybe they are just watching the green spaces and driving towards it then playing the layup meter game at the rim.. gonna play around more with this
As long as you aren't doing them all the time and shooting reds. I play solo rec and I get chances to do post fades all the time. If I miss, I'm iced for a quarter or so lol
It seems much easier for me to activate all the moves with just using left and right stick without using square into my shot. Just using the left and right sticks feels much smoother.
@@urlackin4596 I guess I wasn't specific enough. I don't want the CPU to get the ball if I miss while practicing. Think of something like Mortal Kombat practice/training mode how you can set the CPU to do what you want them to either Jump on your pump fake, attempt a block after the second pump fake, push up on the backdown or not, and so on....to prepare you for different types of scenarios.

I can't time hooks at all unless I go normal risk for shots and turn on shot meter. And even then I'm shooting mostly whites. I hope they do something to make hooks possible to time. Practicing and putting in work to get better is fine, but I don't have hours upon hours to spend memorizing the visual cue for every single shot in a hook package. That's way too much to ask of players, IMO.
I’m always happy as long as someone picks something up, no matter how tiny the detail. If I’m able to teach a single thing in every video, then i did my job. Thanks man!
How often do you have success executing post pivots with the left stick? The controls seem finicky, and I find my player dribble out of the post when trying to set up moves from the triple threat. Any tips to prevent this would be helpful.
Bruh I can't lie. You're so good I can't share your videos 🤣. Imma have to give you some money or something because I'm keeping all these to myself... and Grapefruit lol
@Kevin Cruz how can I get the computer to shoot close fadeaways from at or around the side edge of the paint when the shooter has a high fadeaway tendency? Ive been trying to figure it out for years. They always shoot fadeaways from close to the 3 pt line. If I have a center with high post up tendency they post up close to the basket but the computers players post up from 20 ft. Selecting low post up play type hasnt helped
Great job with your tutorials again!! You're really giving 2k lessons with details. I have 1 request... In 2k24 to send the Ai on a cut we could pull up their icon and hold their button, but now it does not work. Can you put a guide on sending Ai on a cut? The Y/triangle button sucks
@@blAZinSports4k maybe I'm doing it wrong. It passes the ball before I let go... It was better last year. With pulling up the icon and holding the button for the person I want to cut to the basket.
I’m lining up a tutorial on shooting by the weekend that discusses this in detail! But as far as basic tips, play around with the shot profile that fits your shooting performance. No shame in going low risk if you’re not performing well yet. Also turn off all the meters and make sure that you turn on shot coverages so you get a good idea if you’re well defended or not. That and practice!
Post control is a must, strength is another, close shot and mid range depending on what type of post player you want to be, and some speed with ball if you want to drive out of the post. Target the post up poet badge, paint prodigy, and post up powerhouse. And then decide whether you want to be a midrange post up beast or a close range beast
That's always been a tough one, but you can attempt a strip, or anticipate the drop step by moving the LS towards the direction of the drop step so you can initiate a bump. But if you lean towards the opposite direction, you'll get caught in a contact animation and it'll be free
Thank you! Yes, right stick is on absolute, post hooks are still some of the trickiest things in this game man. They don't feature as a heavy part of my offensive post bag because of this!
So left stick is always relative - so let's say you're facing the basket northwest, away from the basket would be southeast. For the RS it's always absolute, so a post retreat will always be a flick down on the RS while you are holding R2.
Thanks for sharing. Great vid! Do these moves only work against AI or do you use this online? Would love to see a vid of you using these post moves online. Thanks!
