You know this is good when the internet trolls can't even criticize the playing and are moaning about the fretboard needing a clean.
This is a fantastic performance but... the lighting on the fretboard does emphasize the nastiness as much as his fingers.
Ben G lick library did a fine job on this tune. I can really appreciate it. Eric Johnson, we can learn from him!
"PEWDIEPIE OUR INSPIRATION" that is the name of my latest
UA-cam video. I used a Beatles song to get my ideas going.
Can you guess what song I used?
Can’t criticise the mans playing he is elite however his instructional style is not great.
@@ToddNorthcutt Not his fault if people can't help themselves when they hear this.
the fretboard is cool as f
holy shit! the definition of "note for note"
You fooled everyone Eric with your Rick Graham disguise. LOL.
you could just tell by how he hits that first bend this was going to be epic
There are many great guitarists covering this tune on UA-cam. This player has the audible control over his guitar. He has a ceiling (a speed above this) tempo, this allows him to play the guitar with control (audio and visual). "99% of what you play is visual", Stephan Robinson, Stetson University. This player's hands, like his fretboard show the countless hours playing. A+ OUTSTANDING!!!
Yes! I am gonna study this video as I learn the last bits of this song. I am definitely going to play several parts the way he does as they look much more efficient.
I'm always amazed at how effortless Rick's playing looks. No tension at all in any of the hands, it looks like his left hand is just gliding and softly touching each string and fret, never seen anyone with such impeccable technique, simply amazing!
He actually has a really good lesson on tension. He mentions to only use the bare minimum amount of left hand, finger tension. So you only hold the string tight enough so the note doesn't choke, but no tighter. It's why the best guys around make it look so effortless.
You should take a look at Gabriel Cyr :) if you like that kind of no tension and light touch ! :) (A Trip in 90's)
imagine how hard the intro is, and how eric j. manage to compose it
Legit one of the best guitarists on the planet.
this is so awesome. glad to see it on licklibrary!
Thanks Straten Marshall All the best Licklibrary!
You're awesome too.
Glad to see you were here 9 years ago!
Rick Graham is a monster, this was f'ing brilliant!
Wow! That is fine guitar playing. Relaxation and economy of motion are your two best friends. You sir, have them in spades. Eric would enjoy playing that piece with you.
Mr. Graham is a super guitarist. I always come back and listen to him. Don't know why someone would be so jealous as to post something negative. 5 stars!
Rick Graham is fantastic whatever he plays.... Killa guitar player!!!!!
I wish there was a separate tutorial for the tone.
The tone is almost the replica of the real thing.
I think is an axe fx
It's an axe fx. I love how you always hear 'those amp simulators can't produce the same tone as my 1850s Marshall hipster machine' but if you don't tell them what it is they think it's the real deal
+Brendon stacey screw you man, I love my 1850s marshall deluxe. it simply can't be replicated.
the biggest part is probably using the bridge and middle pickups
its called a single coil lol. I dont think its that hard to replicate, just need an amp with some type of tubescreamer with it and of course a single coil. theres also a lot of videos of EJ showing his rig and amp settings where he tends to dial down the treble, but I play with my treble pretty high on my amp and it sounds close
.Haven't seen anyone playing as flawless as this. Awesome 👌👌👌
lets all appreciate the fact that the majority of this was done in one take and was pretty much flawless.
What a amazing player!!
Rick is a MACHINE!!!!
Such dedication to perfecting that song, beautifully played :)
great playing and sound is right there too.
Here I am, humming the melody of an instrumental song. What an incredible song and playing.
I had the video at 1.25 speed from a previous video. I thought this guy was insane for playing it that fast.
Brilliant. You recreated the studio version very well, even getting the tones down decently. Good stuff. The version from the album is so great. Love EJ, but he never plays the same version live. Good to hear it played verbatim so well.
british are always no. 1.... salute RG.. loved your playing......
racist
Onur Ulusoy lol?
Rick, that was amazing. Outstanding, smooth technique and beautiful phrasing. I'm now going to start looking up what else you have. Great job!
Seriously spot on.. Awesome job
Brilliant, sir, outstanding!! I've been wanting to comp this song for years now, and now I think I shall try!!
Dude you have made this beyond simple for me to learn and I thank you for this video !
Absolutely fantastic playing.
Whew...didn't even break into a sweat! Disc 2 please Rick. 😀🎸
Bravo!
wow..... so spot on!
The best cover out there! That was note for note
Your tone is impeccable
I've been watching your videos for some time now and they way you teach has taught me how to learn songs. Having to go back and listen 100 times to learn some of your stuff has helped me learn things like the solo to regret #9. After that I really don't see why I can't play this so I started learning it from this video and I already have all the notes in the intro down but my E string just couldn't take that bend any longer. Thanks Rick, for showing me how to use this damn thing for more than campfire songs.
Eric Johnson is really genius guy🔥🔥🤘hats off
Fantastic Rick!! So great to see the complete visual overview to unlocking Eric,s magic !! Outstanding !
Nailed it
Perfect
Best performance of the studio take of this song in yoube (including Eric himself), i can finally finish this song, great, thanks a lot!
LISTEN TO JACK THAMMARAT'S VERSION.
I am late to the party but my goodness! That was note perfect to the original recording!
Beautiful!!! 👊👊👊
Even Rick loves his G string. To Strat lovers.
Sweet💕
Best cover on UA-cam
An impressive, note-perfect performance!
Guitar looks cool, playing is top notch, taught me things in my own quest to play this ditty. Thank you Sir, whats not to like.
My brain and fingers don't work that way. If you showed me note by note I still don't think I would ever play it that well. Excellent stuff.
Это блеск !!
Молодец !!! Здорово !!!
Так держать !!!
Show uma interpretação perfeita por mestre uma obra prima desse instrumento maravilhoso que é a guitarra.....
I absolutely love this lesson. But I couldn`t find the same soundtrack he`s using here, where there`s a drum roll at the beginning.
who dnt like this? omg this is art
Beatiful.Great player.
Fair play that aint no easy song to play
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I saw many great Eric covers like that one. Great job! but no one can imitate his tone perfectly 😹😿😹
Awesome so spot On
Excellent job, wow!
Savage! :)
Flawless, love that fact you can still hear Rick's style even though the tone is near spot on. I'm sure one of the batteries in one of the fx pedals isn't quite at the right charge level....
So Perfect!!!!
Great work Rick! I haven't seen anyone other than Shawn Lane pull off EJ with their own voice shining through. Thanks
perfect ... we salute you!
The movement economy of this guy is insane. Dare say better than the original
GENIAL
bravo thx bro
I hate you Rick Graham.
You make it look a little too easy for comfort. Dick. LOL excellent performance.
impresionante saludos desde argentina!!!!
holy shit you're a beautiful player.
amazing cober...😀
Awesome!!!
Fucking NAAAILED it. :)
Well done sir!
Perfect!
Wow, the cliffs of dover are flowing right out of that fingerboard😂
He didn't even blink.
PERFECTO.....
I play the bar version...sounds great to them at last call...
Me too , lol
For Rick Graham, playing this is probably equivalent to playing a simple scale for all of us, mere mortals.
No I actually found a couple of mistakes. Very small ones, but you can tell by his face he is not happy with them.
I've got the dvd and rick graham does a pretty good job on it . My only gripe (and its a big one) is that he doesn't go into what the right hand does, he teaches you the left hand but it would of been better if he taught you the right hand up and down strokes and what's alternate picked and what is hammered on or off .Its a real shame he skipped this , because the opening two pentatonic runs are too tricky to play at speed without knowing what your right hand is doing .
Sweet geezus dude !
fx sound amazing..
Good job man
I can't believe that nobody has commented how oily/sweaty that fretboard is lol. I'm sure mine gets like that after a while before I wipe it down, but the lighting makes it super obvious in this video
+Rusty Shackleford It makes me want to break into his house and clean all his guitars.
Amazing playing. like seriously incredible. I tried following the tutorial but without tab its not much help to me really.
Flawless ! Is there a licklibrary lesson on this song ?
Really nice tone, excellent playing I think it's very difficult to replicate Eric's feel and fluency.. But it's damn close!
고맙습니다! 덕분에 카피 잘했어요!
My string breaks when try to hit 21 fret note 😅 best sound so closed to eric soud bravo
quick licks please do the Jason becker DVD
Great but that high string is SO flat.
It's probably that bend right at the beginning, has been bullying high e strings since birth.
@@kennethmanuntag it IS flat tho
John Doe that is why i want to see his accurate cover of the song cause he knows every minor details.. now it is time to judge his version.. just for fun...
That fretboard has seen war
Wowsers. Well, if you're going to be cheap and not pay for the lessons you better be damn good to learn it from this performance! lol
high E is out of tune ,BUT SO COOL!! SO awesome!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
They asked me to to teach this but i didn't find it challenging enough, i said find some slacker to teach it im busy.
I had to use the slow down button on UA-cam to learn this. Otherwise forget about it
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEE HEEEEEE
ANYONE WHO GAVE THIS A THUMBS DOWN
WISHES THEY COULD DO THIS
Impressive! How many takes?
Very Hard!
