  • Arroyo track laps (formerly/forever known as the REM track) on Beta's all-new 450 MXer...Not too shabby for a first-year bike. Highlights include stellar brakes, suspension components, and rideable 450 power. A few complaints: She's missing a little crispness on the EFI front down low and has an early soft rev-limiter. The ergos take some getting used-to and the seat needs work, but no major deal breakers to report. Any questions, will always try to provide an honest opinion.

I like the idea of easy to ride 450. It would be awesome if You could compare RX 450 with new 2024 KX 450.

Compared to the Kawi, the Beta is another notch of smooth on the engine side. Most rideable 450cc MXer available at the moment. Suspension is a little firmer than the Kawasaki, but VERY good components allow for proper softening/adjustability. The RX is also even better for taller riders than the Kawasaki; Think 6'+ feeling right at home. The Beta seat still needs some attention, like most bikes from the Italian brand, but all the little peculiarities can be addressed with some aftermarket help. It's a good bike, and can be made even cooler once you check out the Build Your Own Beta program (betabyob.com/)...

Awesome! Thanks for reply! I would love to throw my leg over both KX 450 2024 and RX 450. Right now I'm riding 250F but I'm tempted by bigger bike. But for an awerage weeked warrior, 350 might be still a better idea. @@CasMoto

@@JanASS1991 Agree on the 350, for average weekend warriors they're a great choice, as are 250 2T's: The two strokes provide cheap and easy ownership, loads of fun. Thanks for watching

@@CasMoto I owned few 250's 2T - cheap and easy to maintain a bike but harder to ride in my opinion. Especially if you're tired. Those modern Austrian two strokes are easier to ride than carbourated ones but still, four stroke gives you more connectiviti and predictibility of what is going to happen. Still we're living in a great times when it comes to dirt bikes.
I enjoy watching your vides, best regards!

How does it compare and feel on the track, to the Kx and yz, which seem to be top 2 450’s in most reviews this year? Is it twitchy at all, or feels planted? Have heard beta’s turn super well ?

Very hard to compare against the KX450 and YZ450F; these are known 450cc entities and worthy of those Top-2 spots in most Shootouts. I don't feel that Beta is there quite yet, but for the right buyer the 450 RX could be their dream machine. Frame is not twitchy and the bike handles predictably: Turns and tracks accurately. Brakes are amazing and the build quality is evident. Lots of good going for the mostly red, white, and blue machine!

I played around on a new RX450 but did not notice any EFI mapping issues at low engine RPM - a miss or rich stumble? Beta recommends letting the bike idle for 5~6 minutes with no throttle movement for the ECU to learn the local conditions (I assume elevation). The initial engine response is fairly quick for a Beta but power feels like it flattens out up top. Rain Mode + Traction Control on turns it into a 350F! What did you think of the stock KYB suspension setting? You are a fast rider so perhaps the forks too soft? Beta stiffened up the frame a lot compared to their current 4-stroke models - did you notice any harshness from the frame? The seat is firm and kind of adds to a certain stiffer feel from the back of the bike. The shrouds have some large openings - did you notice anything in corners catching on the shrouds? I think the RX450 could be a very Vet friendly 450 moto bike. Beta Rideability!

Great questions. Short answer on the EFI blip, the harder I rode the bike (trying to make it lag), the worse it got. Barcia-types will notice it especially on revved landings with hard bases: Listen close to the landings at 2:10 and 2:48 as an example; bike didn't just drive forward as expected. Almost felt like KTM's QS delay thinking back on it. Hardly experienced this sensation on the main track with a softer base and less aggressive throttle openings, however. Beta ambassador performed the 5-6 minute warm-up trick, and I would suggest all new owners take the time to learn the ins-and-outs of this new machine. Note: I'm assuming the engine will free up with time, as this particular bike finished the day with less than two-hours on it.
Really liked the KYB suspension, though it was softened up a few clicks from stock settings per Rodney's feedback. Honestly, for me, the suspension package and brakes are the major highlights of this bike!
Steel frame and overall handling are both really really good. Seat on the other hand, needs some work: Thin/hard foam and an uncomfortable shape. The aftermarket has a fix for previous Beta's, but the seat base locking pin is different on this new 450 RX. Radiator shrouds and tank are still too wide for my liking, especially when going back and forth between other 450 MX competition. My Pod knee braces didn't catch on anything or stick, but the knees can feel a bit splayed. It's also a physically taller/longer feeling bike.
Overall, I believe that vet riders and those wanting to stand out from the crowd have a solid contender for their hard-earned money in 2024! Hard to bet against a boutique brand that simply got it (mostly) right, straight out of the gate.

@@CasMoto Thanks for you detailed feedback on the bike. Very few of the RX450's out there so sharing detailed rider feedback is helpful to potential Beta customers. I think Beta might be the most real world vet moto rider friendly 450F for the 24 model year - perhaps KX450 is similar? I'll get more seat time on a buddy's RX450 soon!

Long and tall are the two words that instantly come to mind! Still a little "Euro" feeling, much like all Beta's have the last few years/production cycles. Good eye and Thanks for watching.

A few interesting items immediately stand out: KYB 46 Shock is a big update over the in-house/Sachs design Beta has used in the past for various models, kicker/bumper on the exhaust can for protection, dual-fluid engine separates the clutch and engine oils...Lots of trick anodized pieces as well, all stock for consumers from Beta.
