While I don't have the official art cards, I've just made some quick drawings on Index Cards before the game of what I think will come up and anything I didn't plan for gets drawn as we encounter it. Also love your idea of using cards for session prep, I''ve used Magic the Gathering cards for session prep before and it's awesome!
I love these cards if only as tools for imagination and inspiration. Tables are great, but more abstracted and less game-specific sources are always in order. It's *fantasy* after all. It doesn't have to obey all the rules all the time. And I think they'd work great for pacing too. Good ideas!
How do you deal with distances when you use the cards as terrain? I never know how to define near and far if the cards are used as the terrain instead of used as inspiration for a then drawn map
Cool guidance for a skill any ICRPG gamemaster should strive continually to develop.
Thanks as always for being a great teacher of icrpg to new and old gms alike

How Distance Works With Index Card Terrain #icrpg
Sometimes I use zone movement rules from Fate to have characters move between cards.
