The Pride of Korea: A Soprano Who Captivates the World
Sumi Jo Gala Concert was held in the Main Hall of Suntory Hall on Monday, June 22 in 2015, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Japan-Korea diplomatic ties. The concert provided an opportunity for exchanges between the children of Korea and Japan who carry the future on their shoulders over the next half-century, and it was attended by around 2,000 people.
On December 1, 2022, she came to Japan for the first time in seven years to perform in the Concert Hall of Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre . I was embarrassed to see that Japanese tenor singing along with Sumi in Strauss piece.
He was very pitchy and forced uneven vocal who is not worth opposing Sumi.
In fact why is are so many Japanese have that sort of technic ?
Very forceful and off pitch in order to belt out loudness without finesse.
Also their contorted faces which is ugly and strange. They are just concerned to deliver
the correct sound rather that how they are also being seen on stage as an actor in a role.....
Where did they get those habits ? National art university must correct that.

せっかく韓国の誇る世界的ソプラノ歌手の素晴らしいコンサートを聞いた後に
このように醜いコメントを残す馬鹿な人には消えて欲しいと思います。
何にでも直ぐに日韓の総てに順番を付けないと居られない劣等強迫観念にとり
付かれた哀れな人。クラシック音楽を聴くべき人では有りません。
I hate this kind of hateful comment after hearing / enjoying this wonderful concert by one of the greatest sopranos of our time.
So many Koreans must always compare whose better Korean or Japanese ?
I think it shows their inferiority complex more than anything.
You are dragging down Sumi Jo's great ability to communicate through her music
as we say in Japan " smearing one's face with mud."
It's simply uncalled for and silly/childish behavior.
