If you don’t know: Shipping is when you root for a romantic/sexual relationship between two characters in a movie, show, book etc. Celebrities too. Usually it is a subsection of “fandom.” And a majority of fan fiction revolves around ships.
I like fandom as much as the next but I have never seen the appeal in shipping obsessions. And there’s absolutely no reason why shipping should be taken so seriously by so many people! The fact that there’s something called “ship wars” is outrageous.
