- My Outlaw now has a 1855kv sensored brushless motor and esc and it's turned it into quite a competent crawler. Using this motor hobbyking.com/...
The esc doesn't have many drag brake settings so will be swapped out for a Hobbywing one www.ebay.co.uk...
Very beautiful location, awesome ride, like the two rigs, but the Kanyon is my reference crawler ever.
It's certainly a challenging area and brutal on rigs if you get it wrong
Nice video of a nice crawl at a nice location. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. It's a decent new area and even got a wooded stream section as you'll see in part two
Awesome run brother
Thanks for the compliment. Part two is now up with some rocky trails and streams
@@heady2008 🤙🤙
Awesome video my friend I've just stuck a stock Tamiya motor in my kanyon👍😊👍😎✌
Thanks. I think the Kanyon would benefit from a lower turn or 3s for some more wheel speed
@@heady2008 mine runs in 3S, forever, or in a high C (60 or more), 2S.
@@juanmarichal263 I'll have to get my mate to try one in his
@@heady2008 make a video of this.
Good challenging rocks wet and slippery slope. Can you use stock radio if you convert Kenyon into 4 wheel steering?
Yes but you have to use a Y lead on ch 1 and run the rear servo arm at 180 degs to the front unless you can get an inline servo reverser to work (I tried 2 and they just glitched)
Outlaw is perfect
Went well until I cooked the motor a few runs later running it full bore through leaf mold.
Couldn't understand why they were going so fast then realised I had left the speed setting double fast as I had been watching an hour long build video. Once I slowed it to normal life was less hectic. Looks like you caught a few spots of rain and that made the rocks slippery.
Just some light rain at times and some of the rocks were slick from some run off
Great location, glad your sorted with outlaw
Yep. Outlaw went really well and will be perfect with a better Hobbywing esc
In a brief time I put an Axe 540 2300kv hobbywing in my Kanyon, hope to make a video with the results.
That should pep it up!
That was interesting. I think the Outlaw benefits significantly from the new motor set-up.
I still don't think that the Kanyon is particularly good as a crawler. It's too top heavy,
Fortunately it has other uses and abilities :)
I've got a Hobbywing sensored esc coming with much better drag brake settings. It'll be even better then. The Kanyon isn't a bad crawler but the rear bumper and central chassis plate hang up and it could use more wheel speed. Shame there aren't any alternative semi scale shells available as the stock one is prone to damage in a roll
@@heady2008 First thing my mate did with is kanyon was to cover all of the inside of the shell with packing tape. It's not a complete cure but it has reduced cracking and splitting. But it also makes it even more top heavy :(
@@didactylos4diddy474 I did it too, American tape in the inside of body shell.
@@heady2008 ¿hobbywing quicrun 10bl120 maybe?
@@heady2008 excuse me, I see the links later, quicrun 10bl120 is an amazing ESC, a lot of parameters to program and a very high performance.
does the outlaw have locked diff?
I bought mine used with them already fitted with diff lockers. Cheap parts www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FTX-Diff-Lock-Block-1PC-Outlaw-Mighty-Thunder-Kanyon-FTX8467/163491076598?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
