About the 4% Rule: I don't recall ever seeing anyone point out the life expectancy of the portfolio. The rule says that a portfolio of 50% stocks/50% bonds & cash should last for 30 years. If you're 62 years old, you have about a 25% chance of living to Age 92, i.e., 30 years. I worry about people retiring at Age 55 and thinking they'll be okay because of the 4% Rule. On the other hand, 4% was calculated as the *minimum* safe withdrawal rate. Since it's likely that one could withdraw more than 4%, it's also likely that 4% will last longer than 30 years -- but one should understand and not blindly accept a rule that they are depending on. If you run out of money, you might have a hard time finding employment at Age 85.
As far as life insurance, I would suggest 30-year team instead of 20-year term, and "convertible" (which gives you the option, but not the obligation, to convert your term insurance to permanent insurance) term vs. "just" term. So, 30-year convertible term. I'm very much a "get all the life insurance you will ever need now" kind of person, because you don't have a right to buy large amounts of term insurance just because you want to. You need the life insurance to last long enough to provide a living estate if you should pass away prematurely, and if you haven't amassed "enough" in 20 years, a health condition could keep you from being able to buy another policy. If you are then killed by a meteorite, your loved ones are left to twist in the wind. You can always cancel life insurance once it has served its purpose. Yes, 30-year term insurance will cost more than 20-year term insurance, but it's a good value. If you wish, you could buy part of your coverage as 30-year and part as 20-year, making the presumption that you will have accumulated a significant amount of assets in 20 years. (Don't forget that because of inflation, in 20 years the insurance benefit won't go as far as it would have when you bought the policy.) Convertible insurance costs almost nothing more than "regular" insurance, and the option to convert would sure come in handy if six months before the policy expires your doctor advises you that you have less than two years to live because you have terminal cancer.

What i like to do at Starbucks and Dutch Bros is take the total, let's say $6.50, then multiply it by 10% which gets you .65 cents and then multiply that by zero, which gives you the exact amount that should be tipped on drinks and other pickup options.

Number one money skill to master is stop the comparisons and not care what other people think, including caring about their approval for anything you've done. I've learned the hard way nobody cares about me and nobody is proud of me. Nobody cares what I've accomplished and it's largely meaningless.

Your comment is funny. An as Asian girl, I found that many (notice, not all) asian men does not know how to cook or clean after themselves because their parents have been babying them their whole lives. I noticed more Caucasian men tend to be independent and more willing to cook and clean. But I understand what you’re saying to an extent. In America, we are so spoiled that we just order out and don’t care to cook at home.

Misplaced stereotype there... most Americans are within a couple generations of someone independent and ambitious enough to leave their country in search of better opportunities. As a whole, I think Americans are more capable than the youth of other developed countries.

The quick hit videos are great, plus I’m turning 38 soon so this is right in my wheelhouse. 😂
Regarding calculating a tip, it’s good to know how to do it in your head if you’re trying to impress your company, like a date or a client or coworkers, but there’s a third step which is adding the tip to the bill. If you’re comfortable with the people you’re with, I see no issue with taking out your phone and multiplying the bill by 1.2. It’s one step and if you need to split the bill you can just divide it by the number of people in the party. Tae, your advice is terrific, but I just wanted to add this.
Thanks a lot for another well thought out video.
