    Behind or rather alongside every successful man is a strong woman such as Betty Ford. At least let's hope so. She gave hope to those with breast cancer and then addiction. Bravo, Betty. The world still misses her.

    During a speech when her husband spoke about his dedication to only her she seemed to take in her breath and look down. She was an alcoholic with a drug addiction. A divorcee back in the 40's (at a time when this was unheard of). Openly spoke out against her husband regarding equal rights amendment even though he was still in office. Publicly supported legalized abortion as a "good thing" and wanted it in the hospitals where it "should be". Had to seek psychiatric help. Back in the 70's talked about her daughters possible premartial sex (at age 18) as "normal" and no big deal. In interviews openly talked about sex in the White House bedroom and keeping the President "busy". All while her husband was trying to make a successful and "respectful" Presidency. Such a classy first lady! America should be so proud!

      I admire her for speaking her mind and not being the kind of wife who stands in the corner like Melania does. Her respectful honesty was refreshing and made her seem more relatable. She wasn't some perfect Stepford Wife, she was a real person.

      Classy my foot! She was an immoral woman. A shame to the White House and the U.S. Ford should've never married her in the first place.

    What an amazingly modern and forward thinker. She absolutely doesn’t get the credit she deserves for being as intellectual as she was. What a shock. Even in 2022 women still don’t get equal credit for so many things. Probably never will.

    • @christopherone1
      @christopherone1 2 роки тому +1

      Huh...she's one of the most beloved FLOTUS in history. So she certainly did and does get the credit she deserves. WTF are u talking about?

    • @lauriel.4667
      @lauriel.4667 2 роки тому +2

      @@christopherone1 on his behalf, if you were born after her time as FLOTUS, then it’s easy not to know much about her. I’m here because I’m watching The First Lady on Showtime. Other than knowing about the Betty Ford clinics, I didn’t hear nor was I taught in school just how dynamic of a person she was. So the aggression isn’t necessary, yet extend grace and contribute some knowledge. If you don’t know, you don’t know. You can’t fault someone for that. Yet they are at fault if they remain ignorant. This person was here researching and praising Betty Ford. It was a positive post….chill.
