This is one of the reason I love Ok Taecyeon, he stand for his own morals and he is very humane. As a hottest, I am very proud because 2PM also set the mindset of their fans, to not limit them as an idol. They never let their career hinder them from things they want to do, as a normal person as well.
Serving in the Korean military is not easy. I literally have a Korean friend whose dad moved overseas because he didn't want his future sons to serve in the army. When I heard news of idols who served public service, I thought it made sense if they think they're not capable enough, because it is that tough. But the fact that Taec goes to such lengths to serve even though he doesn't have to... my respect for this man will never die.

Damn shame he couldn't hold on to his green card but regardless Taecyeon is such a good role model as an idol. You can tell he really loved being an idol so much. I respect the hell out of this man. That is why he is my Idol. He is what men should strive to be.
He could but he choose to give up his green card visa so he can serve in military as active duty. He also did 4 surgeries to make him approved to serve. Actually he can serve in military not as active duty because he have injury. But...again...he did everything to make him approved to serve in military as active duty. ;)
@@bittersweetmacaron8185 oh, I was aware that he gave up his green card to serve that is why I made the comment, because before a certain singer defected to the states those that were had dual Citizenship were able to serve and keep their green card I think that it was. I think it was due to Steven Yoo who was the aforementioned singer that caused the rule change. I was also aware of the surgeries as well. The fact that he did everything he did in order to serve just tripled my respect for him.

One thing for sure that I'm not regret being a K-POP fan is, knowing and being a fan of him & the rest of 2PM members at the very 1st place. Even when before Jay Park left the group. I was so into K-POP after watching his live performance with Baek Z Young, My Ears Candy. I still remember when a friend shared me a video of this Korean military man who got shy and then winked when realized someone's captured him, at that time I was proudly said his name, "hey I know him, it's Ok Taecyeon!" Handsome right? :')
This is one of the reasons why I Stan 2nd gen groups like 2pm. They weren’t looking to avoid their duties like other idols who are trying to escape their enlistment by saying that they’re Uber-famous so that’s how they’re “giving back” to their country. What Taec did really shows that he’s grateful to his fans in Korea and that he’s proud of his country.

Damn shame he couldn't hold on to his green card but regardless Taecyeon is such a good role model as an idol. You can tell he really loved being an idol so much. I respect the hell out of this man. That is why he is my Idol. He is what men should strive to be.
He could but he choose to give up his green card visa so he can serve in military as active duty. He also did 4 surgeries to make him approved to serve. Actually he can serve in military not as active duty because he have injury. But...again...he did everything to make him approved to serve in military as active duty. ;)
@@bittersweetmacaron8185 oh, I was aware that he gave up his green card to serve that is why I made the comment, because before a certain singer defected to the states those that were had dual Citizenship were able to serve and keep their green card I think that it was. I think it was due to Steven Yoo who was the aforementioned singer that caused the rule change. I was also aware of the surgeries as well. The fact that he did everything he did in order to serve just tripled my respect for him.

One thing for sure that I'm not regret being a K-POP fan is, knowing and being a fan of him & the rest of 2PM members at the very 1st place. Even when before Jay Park left the group. I was so into K-POP after watching his live performance with Baek Z Young, My Ears Candy. I still remember when a friend shared me a video of this Korean military man who got shy and then winked when realized someone's captured him, at that time I was proudly said his name, "hey I know him, it's Ok Taecyeon!" Handsome right? :')

영주권은 포기하든 안하든 군대가야 하는거고 시민권을 포기해야 군대갈수 있는건데 시민권을 포기하고 가는거는 완전히 다른것 미국에서 계속 살아야 하는데 시민권 포기하고 간다면 미국으로 다시 돌아가기 힘듬.
그냥이중국적으로 편하게 미국왓다갔다 하면서 살수있을텐데. 군대가려고 영주권포기하고 한국시민권 얻은거는 진짜 대단!
This is one of the reasons why I Stan 2nd gen groups like 2pm. They weren’t looking to avoid their duties like other idols who are trying to escape their enlistment by saying that they’re Uber-famous so that’s how they’re “giving back” to their country. What Taec did really shows that he’s grateful to his fans in Korea and that he’s proud of his country.
