This was the infancy of Denmark's rise to prominence as a national team. Considering our size, Denmark has been over-achieving tremendously since about 81-82. Love to revisit this stuff as it is just before my time.
I remember this Danish team very well indeed.....especially that famous win against England at Wembley which I listened to live on radio here in Australia, praying that the Danes would win. That was the beginning of my love of the great Danish team from the 80's - they came from nowhere really. Poor Simonsen broke his leg in the first game at the finals v France.
5:21 THIS is what we all should be remembering the wonderfully talented Jesper Olsen for. What a stellar moment of pure brilliance. His reputation is sort of way too colored by his one single mistake in a 5-1 defeat to Spain at WC86, but he was just a pleasure to watch on this Denmark side throughout the decade.
@@ALLNAMESAREALLREADYT Indeed it was! My non-football fan stayed up and watched the game 'for me' as it was passed midnight. I was over the moon when I woke up! :)
What a team Denmark was btw 1982-1988! Full of world class players, so powerful, entertaining, dynamic and skillful...They could crash any team today...Simonsen, M. Laudrup, Elkjaer, Jesper Olsen, Arnesen, Bergreen, Lerby, Morten Olsen, Andersen, Molby, Povlsen...One of the greatest generations of world football...
If you haven't, you should watch the documentary "Is the Denmark 1986 team the best team to never win a World Cup?" I think it's still here on youtube.
I love that Danish team 82-86. Fantastic players and very offensive.

Top channel!!
I wonder why Denmark wore a new kit at Wembley but went back to the old one after it
Allan Hansen....i supposed he is Scottish, not Danish
Allan Hansen from Denmark played in Hamburger SV and in Berlin - home club in DK was Odense BK - the Liverpool FC player's name is spelled Alan
Tak powstawał Duński Dynamit Piłka Nożna
Really? And Italian commentary on that Wembley game?
❤❤🎉😂preben elkyer larsen umarl szkoda piłka ⚽ nożna dania

A dán válogatott csapat akkor még dán emberekből állott!
Most is dán emberekből áll. Ahogyan a magyar válogatott is magyar emberekből áll.
