The count of Celje Herman III was against the marriage because Veronika was of lesser status. But the couple married in secred. The Count was fureous and got them captured and locked both. The father in law, mighty Count accussed Veronika a witchcraft. But on court she was found not guilty. Nontheless, the count set her murdered by drowning. The song is not about this event, but continues after the Veronika's death. She cames out of water... The song is about women beeing accused and prosecuted when not conforming, when following the desires, love... So you were kind of right, we need to be brave to follow our desires. BR from Slovenia

In the modern world many people are kind of prosecuted for their knowledge, ideas, beliefs. As if we have lost the idea of humanity. The song starts where Veronika's story ends. To me it is like a rising up of the woman (or a man) pushed down to be silenced. The riding, that will haunt the ones, who tried to shut her up. The framelles mirror that reflects the fears of someone who tried to shut her up. For the forst time in history, I am really really proud of the song we are sending to Eurovision. No, it is not a conventional ballad. Nor does it easily enter the ears. But all the production behind it, the rhythm... Everything...

Lol how did you lose Nova Gorica? It was created in 1948 after we Slovenians lost Gorica (before the First World War and the Italian occupation, Slovenians were the majority population). Kobarid was 95-98% inhabited by Slovenians, how did you lose it? For you to say that, after the violence that you carried out in the occupied Slovenian and Croatian territory in the interwar period, is extremely inappropriate.
