Very cool!!! Can’t wait to see the results!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge Mr. Cope👍👍😁😁

  • @thastinger345

Suncoast makes a lot of upgraded parts for the 4R100, like a 300M input shaft, billet forward drum that has full splines(or maybe that is the intermediate drum where the stock one isn't fully splined), drums that hold extra clutches, center supports with bearings, billet intermediate shafts etc.

Way cool John! That thing is going to be stout. I've always liked the E4OD/4R100. That trans is a tough platform, I've used those steel planets, on stock shafts in 1000+ HP diesels with triple disk billet converters and never had one come back broken. 👍🏁

  • @jamest.5001

A 4340 planetary, with tool steel gears, and a 4340 input shaft, with about 6 planets, I stripped the splines on a planetary in a 700r4 years ago, and started looking at was to improve it, a person with the equipment and motivation, could make a lot of improvements, upgrade parts, with more ppl getting cnc mills , and having mills and lathes at home, maybe someone will start tinkering, and making parts to improve things like this, I like the 700R4 if it's behind a 4.3L or 305/5.0 it's great , what i like is the simplicity, the 4L60E same thing, only with that E inside it, I think that stands for Evil!! I guess what I would really like, is a 4L80M a mechanical not electronic, I also wouldn't mind a 6L90M and 8L90M, even if it's fully manually controlled, even the converter, have a brake switch and a delay for Incase the lockup is left engaged, it waits about 20 seconds before relocking, after the brake is hit with a override button to lock it instantly when pushed, the delay also prevents the brake switch from acting as a electronic clutch, and the converter relocking as soon as the brakes are released, (this being for complete manual control) I think a 6L90 or 8L90 with a set of lightning rod shifters in a old car would be cool, it would be for looks, one shifter putting it in gear 1&2, the next giving the illusion it's shifting into 3&4, the next 5&6, with a small shift lever, doing park neutral and reverse im not shure if it's even possible, and the 8L90 adding a lightning rod, for the obvious, 7&8, i just have the feeling 10 gear ratios may be on the verge of too many gears, with it manual, you would feel like you are driving a semi truck, that is missing a handful of gears!, I get the gears allow the engine to stay in the same approximate rpm throughout the acceleration, I was behind a car the other day it shifted 3x before i went to second gear! I suppose it's ok, especially if it shifts really quickly, and shifts properly, I really rather have T-56, even s T-5, or TR-6060, T-10, Saginaw 4dpeed, Muncie, or just a 3- speed! Over a automatic, I have gotten the craving to get a 68-87 c-10 and swap in a vortec 4200, and fab a intake , being it is soo wide and tall, there is plenty of room , the intake , being wide, having bracing, brackets , duel length runners, basically 2-3" velocity stacks on the head, with with a runner that plugs into that short stack, adding about 10"- 18" to it with the runners being inside a large plenum. With a water to air intercooler.. maybe connected to the academy, to really chill the air, use the ac compressor, to compress refrigerant into a tank that can allow the ac system to work without the compressor, having a tank under vacuum, and a tank with refrigerant, basically a couple 20lb nitrous tanks, allowing valves to be opened and closed to configure the system, maybe even cool the interior at the same time would be awesome, and the weight would not be that much maybe use propane as refrigerant, so it will only run rich Incase of a leak. I'm not shure what r134 would do to a engine, anything like hydro locking, or what the refrigerant does in combustion, we know what propane, and propane accessories do😆👍 having a intake charge at a -10° to -25° that's negative degrees Fahrenheit, NEGATIVE °F !!.. then bring the intake plenum is braced, heavy duty . With 1/2" aluminum plating, and such. Bolt a Cadillac or LSA supercharger to the deal , possibly produce 18-20psi at: 2k rpm, to 6800+ being the supercharger was used on a 6.2L engine, dropping to a 4.2L it can produce Soo much more boost, a turbo is cool but spoiler is the spooling, , the super charger spools instantly! With a 5speed transmission and 3.73:1 gears and a split header 3,2,1 into dual exhaust,, dual 2.5" with "H", or
