Great tutorial, really helpfull, i just missed the step when you tick the "As instance" so i was wondering why it wasn't moving but that has been sorted,
Also i got to say the music isn't really appropriate and i rather tutorial without any.
Really greatful for the content anyway.
    Thanks

Excellent information and I am very grateful for it. That said, the music makes me want to jump out my bedroom window, all the while regretting I live on the first floor. Please repost without any music or I will relocate to a higher floor.

I constantly have to tick and untick as instance to reload the metaball. It keeps going invisible. How can I avoid this?

Mine don't showup even after the tick :p. Blender v3.3.1

Looks like I can not work with meshes created by metaballs :( Geometry belongs to metaball, nut to object with geometry nodes.

So many questions why would you separate xyz on a flout, and why would you vector scale a flout

    • @BlenderClass
      @BlenderClass  2 роки тому

Added seperate xzy node to adjust according to the shape of the float curve. A vector scale was added to make the inclination steeper. It has been discussed before, so I did not go into detail about it.This video might be of some help. ua-cam.com/video/j_3cj_ISqk8/v-deo.html

@@BlenderClass what I was saying is it’s ridicules because you only use vector math on a vector separate xyz don’t accomplish anything because all 3 values are going to be the same. The Sam is true for the vector scale you can replace it with a regular math multiply (my questions were rhetorical)

@@shmuelisrlWithout a separate xzy node, it gives the same result. I didn't know. I always think there is a better way. Thanks for the comment.

@@BlenderClass you should understand why. The separate xyz node separate a vector into it’s separate components x, y, and z so if you separate the position it’ll give you a value going to the side, away from you, and up. But if isn’t a vector separate xyz or any other vector math is pointless because it’s just doing the same thing 3 times.

You need to turn your music volume way way down, or off. I have been watching MaxEdge and others tutorials today and learned a lot. All I can remember about this video is that it sounds like a childs toy. And I did rewatch half of it again.
Not trying to seem rude. But - please my friend, do have a think about how you are making your tutorials.
I personally do not need any music when I am learning. I never had it at school, I do not need it in tutorials online.

i'd like to note that music in tutorials generally is a difficult topic. I thought 3Blue1Brown (who has an outstanding math channel) had it down with his choice of music and how he employs music in his videos - but even he seems to be critical of music. Which got me even moe critical of music in tutorial videos.
The one safe use seems to be when the speaker is silent, for example while playing the finished blender animation.
Another reason to avoid musiic is that it can be quite time consuming to find a good piece of music, especially when trying to stick to free (free as in beer) music. Which I tend to do becaue my channel is not moetized and my videos are usually for a relatively limited audience. Putting that simple - no music, no trouble 😞
As for the video itself, I like that it's spoken by a human, thanks 🙂 And seeing something really cool created combining metaballs which are old and rarely used)and geometry nodes which isthe latest must have in blender made this video one of Open Class' best videos!
