Those fight previews at the 4 minute mark really hit hard. Though I was born in 2000 it makes me sad that I couldn’t experience boxing in the 90s first hand. I mean those fights cards were fucking stacked! Del la hoya vs Quartey, Lewis vs Holyfield, Trinidad vs Whitaker! Insane talent in one decade. At least I got the be in the Floyd Pac generation but still I missed out on so much.
I felt kind of bad for Frazier when I watched this fight as it happened, but now that I know that he beat a man to death and got away with it because he's a cop, this ass-whooping puts a smile on my face.
@@seanlamar29 The man's name was Grady Alexis. Off duty Frazier almost ran Alexis and his friends over as as they tried to cross the street. When the men yelled at Frazier to complain, Frazier and a friend jumped out and beat the men, Alexis bad enough to kill him. Court let Frazier go scot-free because our judicial system is totally not corrupt.
I had the chance of knowing Rick because I boxed at the same gym in east Harlem. I was about 17 around this time and I remember that every time he sparred, everyone stopped to watch. Very nice guy and we knew he had no chance but we were rooting for him..
Felt for Roy. They showed at 35:52 some potential opponents and he beat all but one of them at some point in his career. Still didn't get much credit for it, but I don't think that's Roy's fault. He just was in the light heavyweight division at the wrong time. In fact, even if he was here today in his prime there is no "big name" to fight. He could've stayed at middle or super middle and might have had a better legacy.
Richard Frazier was a great fighter had a great amateur career and great as professional fighter and champion also a good person who i am proud to know personally.
Being a New York cop is one tough job anyway but Richard Frazier held down that job plus challenged one of the greatest fighters of modern times for the world title. You have to respect that.
Somebody need to make a highlight reel of Larry Merchant dissing all the American fighters this one of the bad things in America with a disc All American fighters
I can't wait to see what Roy Jones does to this guy. He seems like a nice enough person but he's probably had his "moments." A little taste 😝 may go a long way. His own fellow officers are cracking jokes and those are just the ones in front of the camera! (later) WTF was that?! He who lives by the gun will get ktfo by the fist? Roy Jones probably woke up the next day like: What the....?!?! ☹
Where boxing was ridiculous is you see so many fights where it wasn’t stoped and after the guy looks like he’s ready to die they stop it and then you’ve got championship fights where a lot is at stake for the opponent and he gets a little shook up and they stop it. Completely off balance.
The Wbc was always corrupt, don king always got special treatment. No different then the wbc making canelo the franchise champion so he could duck Charlo
Where do they find these ref he should have let have more of a beating for the money he's getting paid, hell I would even step in and take a better beating than him for the money he got paid
Did you start watching boxing in 2015 or just trolling, because there’s no way you can be that stupid. I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt 😂
Larry Merchant was obnoxious at times, but also a truth teller at times when sorely needed, "tonight, what we brought you, was junk". Boxing was better when HBO was in the game. Imagine Wilder vs Fury 3 with quality announcers doing the fight.
Bro really came out to the cops theme song like it was cool 🤣🤣
So Whats Worng With that?
THIS WAS IN 1998 1999.. I WAS 20,21.. DAMN 20 YEARS AGO WOW

He got to live his dream and he fight the best fighter ever. He can tell his grand kids
He did'nt fight he ran around the ring priscy style flinching
@@gladysrodgers5991 yeah, not something to be proud of.
He can tell his kids he was personally cherry picked by the bum bashing duck himself.

Greg Falco. Not gonna lie. I felt the same way.
Fuck the police.
Now that you said that he didn't get his ass beat bad enough
Damn really

Cop punches someone to death and is cleared of all charges? What's new.

Fr
You feel bad for a guy that ducked and fought civil servants. Wait is that a garbage truck or Roy jones next opponent
Frazie gave me the impression he didn't really want to get up before 10...
It was about money.
Fucking wild. A part-timer fighter, full-time cop who can’t fight.
This what you call running
its like a sword vs a ponytail
I KNEW roy jones was fighting off duty police officers but DAMN that thumbnail
This is why James Toney thinks Roy avoided the rematch.
MONEY.GRAB. Or as it should be termed in the Merriam-Webster a "Don King Special"!!!

Nah.. screw him. A thug in blue who beat up and killed someone who he almost ran over with his car.
Встреча хорошо обученного боксера с талантливым.
Fantasy fight
Elite fighter vs Journeyman
That's Alotta *COPS* 😅
THAT COP BOXER WAS A SCRUB...Glad he got that beat down.

You know they go clown him for days
That boy Roy idgaf who you put in the ring I'm going to do what I do
Did Frazier even train, all he did was run that’s it. Stopping the fight was a no brainer
What is his connection on Joe Frazier ??
RICK HAS NO HEART!

Donut can
good boy ricky......sad
I agree with the ref 👏 get that guy out of there he didn't want to be there he just wanted the payday and he got it
Frazier should be ashamed of his performance and shouldn’t get paid, people came to see a fight. He has nothing to brag about
37:04 😆😆😆

Frazier came our running and being defensive. You can't beat Roy that way.
The guy isn’t Punching and he’s going to get beat up. Might as well stop it before it happens and it’s bound to
Where do they find these ref he should have let have more of a beating for the money he's getting paid, hell I would even step in and take a better beating than him for the money he got paid
lol
He ran the whole fight smh
Didnt this frazier kill someone? Roy should whooped him more!
Yup he did him and 2 other people
Typical Roy Jones opponents....a damn cop lol
Roy Jones should have used this tactic on Antonio Tarver he probably would have gotten a huge victory
Tank Davis and Spence resume is better than taxicab driver beater Jones

Reverse police brutality! 😂
This guy reminds me of floy mayweather haha
Ismael S the kid talking in the beginning?
You don't know much about boxing.
Quick count by Referee! Cheated the fans. Frazier wasn't hurt or in trouble.
The count was good. Frazier didn't get up before 10, and honestly, it looked like he didn't even want to...
@@antomat85 The guy played boxing
He suppose to thank referee because Roy could give him serious punishment
