Wow! You did a very low level on the side of Mount Prinzera, the mountain with antenna on the top at the start of video! Was my home location when I was flying paragliders
Totally brilliant, 1st time seen glider vid with so much going on what with depressing no lift start, suddenly with no notice a life enhancing electric motor saving you then a raptor and fellow glider appearing as you once again spiral up into the heavens!!! You don't appear to constantly adjust flap like the American guy who appears on UA-cam?
@@gregcaspn In Denmark most people who do sail planes don't own the sail planes themselves. Instead they are member of a club, paying a monthly fee of around 100 Euros, and then they can just borrow sail planes from the club.
At 2:30 you were flanking Monte Prinzera. It is unusual don't find any thermal there. Then you found a thermal over Sivizzano village... A reallly uncommon day.
In general that was not a easy competition area for making outlandings. At the river valley it is flat and would have been possible for making an outlanding.
So, how exactly does this 2 kWh allowance work? I understand that you can use that much during task at your own discretion (and I love the tactical implications of that), but what if you use more? Penalty points on the day score? Or is it considered an end of task (equivalent of an outlanding) at the point where the quota is exeeded? How about if you use less, is there a bonus or something? Can there ever be a situation when you wouldn't want to use all of the quota to begin the final glide that much further out?
Darüber muss man erst einmal viel Erfahrung sammeln.

@@SteFly :D Just edited my comment as you were writing the same advise. Great video! I wondered if there was any reason why you didn't center the thermal earlier. It was clearly stronger on one side.
The complete package of the glider, equipment and trailer costs about 150.000 € + VAT. You need a sailplane pilot license to fly this glider. I´m not sure about the minimum hours needed for the license, but it takes some time.
Because this sound is the acoustic variomter and it tells you if the air is rising or not. So it is very important to find lifts and at the same time you are able to look outside of the cockpit to the clouds, birds and other important factors that can help you to find thermals.

When you started the motor it scared the life out of me!
Me (a new viewer) at 3:40 : Hey! That's cheating! lol
E Glider driving can compared with Bird of Prey . When they have to flap with their wings, you will use your E Sustainer. A great thing 👍
Thank you! Yes, that´s true. And you still have to use the electrical energy in the best way, so that you don´t waste the limited power. ;)
nice flying. It was reassuring with the vario needle pointing up and your friend appeared at 5:47!!

Doesn't look like the best place to plan an outlanding, not a flat field around. ;)

Just a few km down the valley from Monte Prinzera there is also the gliding club at Rubbiano. Low, but not unsafe…
