After the Pain arc, Naruto and Sasuke don't actually feel like themselves while fighting. Naruto was supposed to be reckless, but crafty and ingenuitive, perfectly exemplified by his fight with Pain --- shows maturity and him in character. Sasuke was supposed to be analytical and tactical; his fight with Deidara and Itachi actually feel like a proper ninja battle. Then he just charges in head-first crazy in every fight after.
Man I just love how you roast the Byakugan. I was wondering why that eye technique got hyped up so much and no Byakugan user was any more relevant than Ino. I guess the Rabbit Alien has them but she is beyond broken and didn't even need nor use it.
This is kinda vindicating. After Jiraiya died I basically quit Naruto for about 5-6 years I think until the series completed. Then I just binge read the rest from there and a ton of this stuff never made sense to me. A lot of the questions asked in this video I didn't even dare to ask anymore since I figured I am not read up enough on the material. I didn't even know the Rinnegan was an evolution of the Sharingan, it was just this eye that came out of nowhere with all these powers. I'm guessing when it was revealed in the manga it didn't even register to me.
The 2 both shater or explode. It was even mentioned in Jump force by Seiya after he did the exact thing. The ultimate spear and the ultimate shield. If Jump force isn't at LEAST an AU with lots of inconsistent nonsense but still awesome moments, then your guess is as good as mine. Not sure why they included kaguya in it at all. Probably just for kicks.
When it comes to the gaara part, I actually didn't mind it. I found it rather emotional to learn that Gaara was loved, but he wouldn't realize it until the war. But I definitely see why you thought it was poorly written, and I do agree that it does lessen the message that Garra's character stood for just a bit. All-in-all, I still think Gaara is a great character, and his moment with his fucked-up dad is less egregious of a moment compared to some of the other shit that takes place in this mess of an arc. Great analysis on your part btw.
It was more of a personal gripe I suppose - there are definitely more moments that are written technically worse, but I don't think anything is "ruined" nearly as bad by the war. A lot of terrible stuff is introduced, but I can't think of anything else that's retconned to be WAY worse imo. (Besides the Black Zetsu thing, arguably, which undermines the entire series.)

I think the Garaa alteration makes sense. The original message still holds well with the alteration. It goes to show the failure of his father’s parenting and the tragedy in him killing his mother and uncle and how this warps him into a monster. He is of his fathers creation, and that he is a monster that could’ve been avoided but yet sadly does not avert that path. It takes Naruto to understand him that he still has the power to change the fact that he shouldn’t be defined as a monster and that he can change his ways through friendship and love. Garaa still suffered, he was still hated by most people for being a jinchuriki like Naruto. The alteration is just there to show that he was never supposed to be hated, things just happened that made him into a psychopath.
I'm not trying to insist Gaara never suffered, but I am saying that making his Uncle actually love him gives him far less of a reason to suffer. The fact that the emotional conflict is a bit of a farce is disappointing. I would liken it to that clishe in all those romance movies (eg Shrek) where the two love interests have a misunderstanding so they seperate for the third act and then come together at the end. Having two characters misunderstand each other's intentions, emotions, or conflict is far, far less compelling than having an actual conflict. You can basically insert a misunderstanding anywhere into any story without any real reason and you've created instant conflict. It's cheap and simple. Which is part of the reason this revelation is so disappointing to me. They had a perfectly fine, well suited back story that had been resolved hundreds of episodes ago. Now, for some reason, Kishimoto goes and changes it into a backstory which is literally just worse? There was no purpose in this change. Gaara's character doesn't really grow much as a person from this scene, he behaves more or less identically to how he did in the rest of Shippuden. In short, it was pointless, substituted great writing with more mediocre reasoning, and epitomizes how the war relies on emotional re-treads to get any reaction from the audience.
I would have accepted the eyes of the Rinnegan and Sharingan being transfered without rods if, as I thought it was the case before, the tails owners were reanimated by Obito himself. But it turns out Kabuto brought them back to life making it even dumber
Ik I'm like 2 years late bro but this was an excellent series full of amazing comedy. But it also kinda depressing that you can make over 3 hours worth of content explaining just the war arcs flaws alone. But even so I'm glad that the show was atleast good while it lasted because when this show was good it made for some of the most exciting moments if my childhood.

The whole reincarnation extra-super-bullshit powerup thing was clearly tacked on and not planned by the point in the series this video is talking about... at all.
Had Indra and Asura been alluded to? Yes. Of course. But when they were, it was more to reinforce the theme of "history repeats itself" (See the 3 Sanin and Team 7, Madara and Hashirama being Naruto and Sasuke). There is no way to make a compelling case that this was planned out at ANY point prior to when the Allied Forces were engaged in that massive battle at the end of the series.
No way you think the 3rd raikage can beat Madara
I like ur video but the 3rd Raikage is nowhere near as strong as madara that was just dumb.Good video btw tho
But but madara.Madara uchiha so ten out of ten
He is boring
