3:50 I love your explanation for this little feature. Minimizing hand movements is so important when you're inputting a ton of data. People don't realize how disruptive having to move your hand off the numeric keypad can be. Coupled that with the auto decimal point and wow, so much time saved.
auto decimal points; find and replace formatting; favourites ribbon. All great tips I wasn't aware of/using frequently. Wonderful content as always Mynda.
My all time most used is setting up my own tabs, and critical in a lot of what I do. I have also taught this to teams who do a lot of document/template control for Quality Management Systems. However the Find/Replace format is cool!
Handsome review, as always! #2. Ctrl + Enter to fill selected cells/ranges with the same data or formula. It is convenient for diagonally oriented data (matrices). Shift+Enter / Shift+Tab to move to the previous cell (return in case of mistyping).
Thanks for sharing. The only problem I have with SHIFT+TAB is it requires two hands and that means taking your right hand off the numeric keypad, which is a pain when entering numbers.
Thank you Mynda again for tpis and tricks. I'ld like to add some additional info including yours, 1- After we select data entry range where we will insert data and then type number or value then press enter, cells will be moving to other cell address as your range direction. 2- Focus cell option also is not available when we open New Window button so as to compare same workbook sheets. Focus cell works just one workbook and doesn't work same New Woorkbook. Looking forward to waiting for your new tutorial. See you 😉
Thanks for watching! I don't get this experience. When I select a multi-row range, typing the first value and pressing enter moves the active cell down, not to the right. Good to know about focus cell and new window 🙏
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub Hi Mynda, This is just valid for not multi-row range, just single row range like your tutorial explained. If you select just single row and type values by pressing enter, you will see that cells are going to move from left to right.
Another game changer video … where was Sparklines hiding all this time? I thought I knew Excel pretty well but this channel teaches me something new pretty much every video. My question is, you’re teaching me, who is teaching you? How do you know all this stuff? Mighty impressive 🙌
😁so great to hear you discovered something new! It's a combination of places I pick up these tips. I've been using Excel for so long, I don't even remember where I learnt half of them, but honestly, a great resource is other people in the community sharing tips in the comments to my videos 🥰
@MyOnlineTrainingHub Additionally I used Web source as to get the data because I don't have the feature of extracting the data in my version of Excel from Photo.
Dear Mynda, In "Feature 2", selecting the empty range, where the data will be entered, pressing Enter after insertion, the active cell is the next of the selected range. 🤗
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub It is strange, because keeping a range selected, when you enter data in this empty selection and press Enter, the active cell will have to go to the right, if the selection is horizontal. If, as you say, when you press Enter the navigation is being directed down, then the empty horizontal selection no longer exists. 🤗
There's one other data entry feature you did not mention. Selecting the area you want to enter the data, pressing enter inside that area will move the cursor through the area. This overrides the setting in options. Also, if you have a multi row multi column area to enter data, the setting in options will move the cursor in that direction. I love using this step as a training tool for people with sheets with a lot of data to enter.
Hello Mynda Seeking some guidance. I’ve spent 40 years managing small retail businesses and have utilitized the 80/20 rule to streamline them and be make more profitable. Now I’d like to use that experience to help small retailers. Would you suggest or recommend a way to maximize the power of Excel and possibly AI to run 80/20 analysts more effectively and efficiently. Thank you Steve (68 yrs) Manitoba Canada
I have been using Excel for years (decades actually) and recently found that the SORT command allows me to sort COLUMNS of data, where I thought it only handled ROWS. It was like finding a gift under the Christmas tree! You may want to highlight this option in a future video

Excel is getting more powerful features every day, thanks for the video and sharing!
It sure is. 365 is worth it IMO.
Awesome ♥
THANKS a lot Mam.
Most welcome 😉

That custom ribbon trick is something I'm definitely going to try! 😮
Me too!

Dear Mynda,
In "Feature 2", selecting the empty range, where the data will be entered, pressing Enter after insertion, the active cell is the next of the selected range. 🤗
Not for me, Jose. Pressing enter in the selected range sill navigates to the next cell down.

Aw, thanks so much for your support!
awesome...thank you
Thanks for watching, Mo!
Looking forward to seeing the Focus Cell feature. That will save me a lot of headaches looking at spreadsheets.

Hi Steve, I covered the 80/20 rule in Excel here: ua-cam.com/video/KCxzmQTcI6s/v-deo.html
Is there any way to move right on enter option to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
Ooh, great question. I don't think so.
I have been using Excel for years (decades actually) and recently found that the SORT command allows me to sort COLUMNS of data, where I thought it only handled ROWS. It was like finding a gift under the Christmas tree! You may want to highlight this option in a future video
😁Yes, great tip. Thanks for sharing. Will keep this in mind.
If I need to manually enter data, I like to use TAB + ENTER, no need to change the options (by default my cell selection doesn’t change).
Thanks for watching, Geert! The only issue I have with TAB+ENTER is you have to take your hand off the numeric keypad, which slows you down.
I never noticed the Focus Cell command, and the last time I saw this, it had embedded VBA to manage this :)
Focus cell is still in beta. Glad you can make use of it.
👏👏👏👏
🤗
honestly just basic stuff, there is much much more things to showcase
Indeed, but you'd be surprised how many people don't know the basics. I cover loads of advanced tips in my other too. Thanks for watching.
