The rolling drum passages in this one are nigh unmatched. They are ominous, overwhelming, almost apocalyptic sounding. They feel powerful and oppressive. Straight up sounds like thunder, but frantic, rapid, and unrelenting. Frankly they're just a stroke of genius, and perfectly executed, and I can't get over them. Especially the second one.
I agree. It’s so powerful and conveys the pain so well.. “I am torn apart!!” Chills every time.

One of the only bands that always seems to have my expectations way too high prior to releases but still finds a way to blow me away. Thank you for staying true to your sound Currents, time for them to get the attention they deserve and hopefully blow up like none other. (side note, Brian is one of the best in the game. The evolution of his voice and the way he can execute live is truly one of a kind to see in person)
You couldnt have said that any better. I keep thinking "fuck, nothing will top that last album/ EP. Time for them to regress" and then they come out with this shit and I'm reminded why i ove them so DAMN MUCH!
The first time I heard their music was the Victimized EP. i feel this is a decent departure from that lol. Still love both though.
I'm going to see them live tonight in Columbus and I'm so excited

@@sytheopath1241 exactly what I was thinking after I Let the Devil In, then we got Poverty of Self and I was awakened that Currents is the last band to doubt lmao (nothing against their ILTDI-ep at all btw, personally loved it) always gonna have that lingering thought though prior to releases since Wage War bent us all over with a regression for the ages

been out of the Metalcore community for a while and was hyped to come across a band that is killing it in 2020
Currents deserve way more recognition for the music they write, it’s better than 99% of all modern metalcore out there in my opinion

Currents is such a underrated metal band. They deserve nothing but the best. Thats what they give to us fans.
I saw them in Pittsburgh and was blown away a few years back and haven’t stopped supporting them.
It’s impossible for them to make a bad song. They’re kings of the metalcore scene right now and for a long time to come.
This song came on my Spotify randomly and I had never heard this band before, I had to pull out my phone and check that it wasn’t a new Northlane single I wasn’t aware of😂 good song tho

Fun fact, most of the storms and winds (specially the one playing in the background during the breakdown) were all emitting from the studio while this was recorded.
Anyone else have a cathartic experience when that tornado and slamming hits at 1:34? Man, I do not know what it is, but just seeing the power of that tornado ripping that barn apart, I was just mesmerized by its power and beauty; not to mention it lined up perfectly in the song. As I had goosebumps covering my arms, neck, and running up my head (oh yeah!), all the emotions of this stupid coronavirus craziness, disasters in the world, partisan politics, etc. just overwhelmed me. Thanks Currents. Keep it up. Music like this allows me to get my emotions out that I often bottle up.
