16:53 is called Cab Speed (NORAC Rule 281a) . Proceed on Cab signal indication...there's more to that rule but that's the main gist. In this case it is the best signal aspect a train will get from B track since they have to cross back over to 3 track at Portal.
I used to often ride from Penn Station to Matawan, and I would see the Pennsy Heritage Unit quite a lot on that particular run. Looks like they're keeping up the tradition, because the old Pennsy GG1s used to ply that route to Long Branch years ago.
I’m surprised they haven’t electrified out to Secaucus since the dual modes aren’t allowed to change modes at Hoboken. Would make a lot of sense to electrify out to Secaucus so they can stay in electric mode in and around Hoboken.
I wasted $3.90. If you arrive there and stay there it’s no problem, or if you go up and stay there. To go from lower to upper and back to lower I had to splurge a little. It’s worth it
Nice shot 👍🏾
I enjoy the video👍👍
Amazing! Never a dull moment at Secaucus! Thanks Tim😀💚

I grew up in Secaucus. Graduated SHS 1977. It's changed a bit.
Look at that 4101 bell shine. I just repolished it on Sunday
Nice video
Amazing these old EMD units are still running these lines, I grew up in NJ and all the same sounds and sights as 30 - 40 years ago.
All amazing catches! Really perfect timing for the heritage units!

Love the Sikorsky S58T sneaking in the back of the first shot of the CNJ unit, a very rare helicopter to go with a great selection of trains.
Is there some rail car inspection device around Secaucus ? like a portal or something ?
That’s so cool😊😊
Awesome catches bud I do miss riding the cabs of those locos

Well, Secaucus sees only diesel trains downstairs. No need to electrify from Hoboken
Tim, you had a great “heritage “ day!
Coveted"..nice word but last couple of days didn't fit that descpription....Take care sir
Nice stuff! Heard they are taking the PL42 out of service. Only 6 on Hoboken division today!
Take the DP’s with them!!!
Train 1165 is the train I usually take to get to my Grandmas after school sometimes because it runs nonstop to Radburn
Wow lots of heritage units in this video, you’ve got some good luck huh.
when the trains are using metro north equipment are they still NJT?
They are serviced by NJT.
@ so would they be considered njt trains or metro north
@ NJT
Is the F-40 the passenger version of a GP-40? Thanks
Do they still run GP 40’s and 40-2’s on any line?
Most of the lines.
I tried to go to the upper level of secacus but they have a ticket system, how do u get through?

Yeah cause the only time I got to the upper was cause I was with a njt employee of a friend of mine and he could scan his I D to go through
Long live the EMDs
Did u see French onion soup engineer
He didn’t work yesterday
