I've been a pentecostal for 30 years but you said 2 things that I need to comment on. 1. It's tongues as of fire, not fire. 2. You said you wanted more than "just being saved". Being saved is the greatest thing we can ever have in life. It snatches us out of the fires of hell. Now I pray in tongues and have done so for years but the church has way over-emphasized this. Many of us that pray in tongues don't study our bible, and don't evangelize to win souls. I love praying in tongues but let's put priorities where they belong. Also look at 1st Corinthians 1:22, 14:22, and 2 Corinthians 11:4. Some say that these verses point to tongues having been a sign only, and to nonbelievers. Think about how much emphasis we put on this. Yes it's powerful, but we've let it be a distraction. God bless you brother.
