In regards to the writing on the box:
"パオ号 16才 It is japanese. パオ号is the name of this box.
and 16才 is the dog`s age.
"Pao, 16 years old". The owner's surname Ootsuki were also written.
Lots of people have been using this page to remember their dogs who have grown old.

I have an old Fox Terrier that we have to lift onto the bad at night. She sleeps with us because she is 17 and wants to be near us always. We have to get up several times a night so she can get water or go outside. Like having a baby in the house again,,,ya know, I don't mind.

This is how you treat a senior dog. My 14.5year old shitzu-poodle just got heart failure so sometimes he can't go on his long walks like before cause he gets tired easily, So I got him a senior dog stroller and he LOVES IT!
It's lot of work sometimes caring for a senior dog, but it's worth it. Had him since he was a puppy and he's my first dog... It's so hard. But I'll do what I can to make his life more cozy and happiest I can till the end.
We owe dogs everything, I feel like they teach us so much about life.

I hate all these racist comments. Saying that all Asians eat dogs. NOT ALL OF THEM DO! I love dogs so much omg. I can't even and I'm Vietnamese/Chinese. Believe me I'm totally against animal cruelty, I think its horrible, but stop saying "oh Asian people eat dogs, and china/Korea is horrible" not everyone is like that.. They don't eat dogs in Japan, they take them out to lunch.
Dog meat is very expensive in China and Vietnam. They are usually eaten by rich people or for medicinal value. Other than that, there are other meats that taste better and are cheaper.

Yeah it probably was. I filmed this in Arashima, Kyoto. It wasn't too far from the bamboo forest area and the railway lines that go through there.
Wakaleo That is exactly where I saw them!! I had just exited the bamboo forest trail, back when they had these pretty flower/light displays set up during xmas. pretty cool :)

That is so sweet! My dog is the same age and they can get issues with their legs at this age, so I think this is absolutely adorable :)
My poor dog will be there one day. Already have a roller seat for him when the time comes (It's also his car seat, a bed he likes and a backpack).

Thankyou! I tried to think of all sorts of things for my old German Shepherd when his legs gave out due to old age. I even had a thing built for him but getting him into it was too much of an ordeal. I just couldn't picture what would work and never did. But now, thanks to this clip I can. Although I do wonder how much trouble getting this old husky in and out is.

When it comes to pictorial characters, actually, there is no difference save for pronunciation. Way back when, Japan had no writing system and therefore had to borrow it from the Chinese. However, Japanese has two syllabic alphabets- Hiragana and katakana- in addition to said pictorial characters (or Kanji as they call it). So if you see those syllabic characters, you can immediately tell it's Japanese.

That's probably the saddest comment I've ever had on one of my videos. It sounds like the dogs in your life were loved immensely. I miss my dog as well. I had a boxer. It's true what they say about animals being family. They always remain in your heart and mind long after they go.
The Dog is 16, it's doing pretty well. As for the smoking. Sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea but maybe he's tried quitting many times and can't. Don't be so quick to judge, you never know someones story. He's doing a lot better than the millions of people each year that give their dogs to a refuge.

Yeah from what I saw mentally it didn't look like it was depressed or unhappy. He doesn't have it in the box 24hrs, I saw the dog out of the box later in the day.

Thanks for the advice! We have a cat we rescued who was skin and bones. I think we'll cuddle him more when Ben goes but I'm not sure about another dog. Ben's not in any pain right now and recovering well from the cataract surgery. It's great to see him going through doors and walking around the yard again. We've lost a couple rabbits that we had for years and it was devastating but this will be worse since we've had him so long. Let's hope he still has lots of time left!
Love it. My dog Ben is 18 years old. We just got him cataract surgery as he couldn't see very well. They only did one eye but it is helping already. He's looking up at us again, climbing stairs and going out the door all by himself. 7 different eye drops every 5 minutes, 4 times a day. A $5 cough pill multiple times a day as well for bronchitis but he is a happy dog so as long as that's true we will keep him going!
If he can still eat dead birds I say he's alright!
