Garon's thoughts while Azura was dancing: "What the-? This... awful feeling... And all that water... Oh no. OH NO. NOT THE LAST AIRBENDER MOVIE!! I'M HAVING FLASHBACKS!!! AAAAAARRRGGHHH!!!!"
In Conquest Corrin: Whoa, who's that singer with ankle length blue hair who sings the only goddamn song Azura ever sings?! Wait where's Azura? She's missing out on the performance of that singer who is totally not her!
[Revelation spoilers will be in this joke, if you for some reason did not finish Revelations yet do not look] SING WITH ME A SONG OF GUNTER GETTING HIS ENTIRE VILLAGE BURNED DOWN. *Sounds of increasing discomfort*
Light version is far more elegant Dark version is far more passionate I like both, could you imagine if it started off light, slowly switches to the upbeat dark version then mellows out for a finale?
Birthright Corrin: DO NOT SING AZURA, WE CAN KILL THE KING WITHOUT YOU KILLING YOURSELF! Conquest Corrin: Who is she and why did King Garon just jizzed his pants?
I may be the only one who does not have a preference for one or the other..... I love both Light and Dark versions. Although for some reason, the Light version sounds better in the japanese version, while the Dark version sounds better in the english one....... ...... Which is kind of fitting, since the Light represents Hoshido, which is based on japanese feudal culture, while on the other hand, the Dark represents Nohr, which is based on western/european medieval culture..... Clever.
Well, the Dark Version is Rena Strober's actual singing voice. you can hear her struggling a bit to reach high notes as she sings Light Song. Also the tempo is a bit hard to follow, as it's really fast.
100% agreeing to that And headcanon: Preferring one or the other is showing if you're more light or dark (order or chaos if you prefer the Tellius games)
Rena Strober did an amazing job imo. I love her voice for Azura, whether it was singing or the regular voice clips Despite the flack her character gets, I really loved Azura's stoic but gentle nature, and I felt the voice acting fit her pretty well
I love the Conquest version of this song and I love the differences between the song and its ability to "heal" (SPOILERS If you haven't played Birthright/Conquest) In Birthright, the song doesn't affect Garon as badly as it does in Conquest because Azura doesn't have an idea of how possessed Garon is. it still affects him, but the song is softer and reflects how much it actually hurts Garon. on the other hand, it works /very/ well on Takumi because she sees he's fighting back and is able to use her song efficiently. on the flip side, in Conquest, the song is firmer and she puts more power into it to try to free Garon. it doesn't work because she doesn't realize that he's essentially a walking corpse thus well beyond her ability to heal. And that's why her song doesn't work on Takumi because by the time they face him, he's also an animated corpse. personally i love the Conquest version more but both versions are excellent
I wasn't expecting this song when I played Conquest, I pretty much was waiting for the same song that Azura sang in birthright, but when I started listening to the dark song, I just fell in love!!
For anyone who's too lazy to look them up, but would like to know, here are the lyrics {with Garon grunts conveniently left out for you. xP}: "Lost in Thoughts All Alone: 'Light Song'" In the white light, A hand reaches through. A double-edged blade Cuts your heart in two Waking dreams, Fade away. Embrace the brand New day Sing with me, a song, Of birthrights and love. The light scatters to The sky above Dawn breaks through the gloom. White as a bone, Lost in thoughts, All alone. ~~~~~ "Lost in Thoughts All Alone: 'Dark Song'" Embrace the dark, You call a home Gaze upon An empty white throne. A legacy Of lies; A familiar disguise. Sing with me, a song, Of conquest and fate The black pillar cracks, Beneath its weight. Night breaks through, the day. Hard as a stone, Lost in thoughts, All alone
Its cool to see an HD version of this. Thanks for uploading this. Also, I hope that one day there will be a version of this song/cutscene somewhere without Garon's annoying grumbling. :/
+PlasmaTempest39 The OST does include longer versions of both arrangements without the grunts. Japanese version, of course. There are also instrumental versions as well.
Just in case anyone was wondering about the Revelation lyrics, here you go: “A burdened heart sinks into the ground, A veil falls away without a sound, Not day nor night, Wrong nor right, For truth and peace we fight! Sing with me a song Of silence and blood The rain falls but can’t wash away the mud Within my ancient heart dwells Madness and pride Can no one, hear my cry” There is also one for the Children of Fates DLC, here is that one: “In endless dreams, countless realms collide Hope falls only to rise like the changing tide But all things come to an end Just whispers on the wind Sing with me one last time For lights sacrifice Endless dawn came but not without a price Lost in the waves there glimmers A pale blue stone I think of you, all alone”
I think King Garon is more affected by the Conquest song because of the different goals in them. In the Birthright song, she's trying to free and purify Garon. But in the Conquest song, she is actively trying to kill him.
Have you guys seen this?? She did amazing work on improving the choreography that kind of hard to see from the cutscene ua-cam.com/video/i7fPo5titqA/v-deo.html
I don't know which I like better so I pick both! Because even with the similar melodies, the fact they have different instruments gives them completely different feels.
The Queen's Ace The stinking stadium she sings in gets destroyed! You can't sing in a place like that when two sides are fighting... it's dangerous to...
In conquest Azura has a better idea of how corrupted Garon really is than she does in birthright. Her song is tuned more powerfully against him in conquest. the lyrics of the song even reflect this with lines directly referencing him like "empty white throne", "legacy of lies" and "familiar disguise"
Wow! Azura's Beautiful and Breathtaking when she's Singing and Dancing. She's my type of Fire Emblem character I can DEFINITELY get used to from Fates!!!! 👍👌👍👌
+mistykait96 Not that bad of spoilers. When I first saw that line, all that came to me was: "Oh, well, too late. She already fucked me." It doesn't really have that big of impact.
Considering what actually happens in Birthright, I suspect that the "double-edged blade" that "cuts your heart in two" is a lot more literal: namely, it's Xander's sword Siegfried cutting Elise.
Before Fates was released and clips of these two cutscenes were shown in the trailers I originally thought they were going to shown at the end of the game (basically a victory song for whichever side won).
The grunting noises are like being in a movie theater and sitting right in front of that one darn person who just won’t stop talking. Like, just shut up and enjoy the show like the rest of us
The _Light Song_ was beautiful and calming in away, it's opening was somewhat slow yet picked with heartfelt song, and beautifully orchestrated too, I really liked it. The *Dark Song* caught me off guard to be honest, I liked both in their own way, but I wouldn't be surprised if most people like it more. This makes me wonder what i says about humanity's... I prefer the dark version because in birthright she keeps on singing the same bloody song to the point I heard *your the ocean's gray waves* every time I see her.
Imagine how the revelation version would have sounded had Azura been able to do it. Would it have been a median between the two or something entirely different?
God I love the two styles! For example: Birthright is Slow typo, captivating, serene and graceful. While Conquest is a higher typo, sexy, and catchy as hell. Both of them concey different styles and both work for the song they present to us. I love both so damn much! I noticed that the instruments thst were in each one change. For Example Birthright's instruments sounded graceful and serene style of portraying the song, compared that to Conquest's instruments were a higher typo and more upbeat. The percussion drums set the stage for the spectacle you are going to see. Which made the song come all the more engaging and interesting to just listen or just watch. These are some the scenes Fates has to offer, so what if the story isn't very good. As long as I find something worthwhile then that is all that matters. These scenes are no exception as soon as I saw these I knew that I was in for something special!

I prefer Rena's regular voice for Azura, however, I prefer Renka as her singing voice
I love the Conquest version of this song and I love the differences between the song and its ability to "heal"

My Goodness!
I wasn't expecting this song when I played Conquest, I pretty much was waiting for the same song that Azura sang in birthright, but when I started listening to the dark song, I just fell in love!!
Garon is the best singer
tru
i think he just likes azura (>_
He's remembering his wife
Garon's thoughts:
Like fire
Hellfire
This fire in my skin...
Great. Now we have to add molester to his list of atrocities.
For anyone who's too lazy to look them up, but would like to know, here are the lyrics {with Garon grunts conveniently left out for you. xP}:
"Lost in Thoughts All Alone: 'Light Song'"
In the white light,
A hand reaches through.
A double-edged blade
Cuts your heart in two
Waking dreams,
Fade away.
Embrace the brand
New day
Sing with me, a song,
Of birthrights and love.
The light scatters to
The sky above
Dawn breaks through the gloom.
White as a bone,
Lost in thoughts,
All alone.
~~~~~
"Lost in Thoughts All Alone: 'Dark Song'"
Embrace the dark,
You call a home
Gaze upon
An empty white throne.
A legacy
Of lies;
A familiar
disguise.
Sing with me, a song,
Of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks,
Beneath its weight.
Night breaks through, the day.
Hard as a stone,
Lost in thoughts,
All alone
Joshua Jackson [Azura's of increasing Garon]
Personally I don't like the increasing groans of discomfort line and just the lines of the music.
I always thought that it was “that empty word throne”
Its cool to see an HD version of this. Thanks for uploading this.
Also, I hope that one day there will be a version of this song/cutscene somewhere without Garon's annoying grumbling. :/
+PlasmaTempest39 The OST does include longer versions of both arrangements without the grunts. Japanese version, of course. There are also instrumental versions as well.
and the Dark song has Conquest and fate.
Just in case anyone was wondering about the Revelation lyrics, here you go:
“A burdened heart sinks into the ground,
A veil falls away without a sound,
Not day nor night,
Wrong nor right,
For truth and peace we fight!
Sing with me a song
Of silence and blood
The rain falls but can’t wash away the mud
Within my ancient heart dwells
Madness and pride
Can no one, hear my cry”
There is also one for the Children of Fates DLC, here is that one:
“In endless dreams, countless realms collide
Hope falls only to rise like the changing tide
But all things come to an end
Just whispers on the wind
Sing with me one last time
For lights sacrifice
Endless dawn came but not without a price
Lost in the waves there glimmers
A pale blue stone
I think of you, all alone”
I love how the dark song sounds like Azura's mocking him.
