I absolutely love how Zen, Kuro (the one guy), and Matara's low ranges are balancing out the otherwise very high-heavy singing of the rest of the group.
EDIT: Previously, Zen was the only low-range of the group. The addition of Kuro and Matara definitely made a project like this work.
Don’t forget the mid level which Melody and Geega hold. Also Mouse dips into it as well. I’m surprised how consistently high Kson is haha!
It's really remarkable just how much Kuro and Matara's naturally lower tones add to this. Previously they really only had Zen (who by definition can fill in at pretty much ANY range), and maybe kinda the lower edges of what Melody could handle.
Now with those two providing a real anchor and the relatively recent additions of Haruka and Geega to their midrange, they've got a MUCH nicer overall sound. Love it!
Kuro asked if he could go full ham for this and went WILD with it!
Edit: Thunderscott is an essential part of making zens songs, he is responsible for mixing her voice in her first cover as well as all of her parts of the concert. This along with some new software that lets them manipulate it a bit more. What im saying is, zen is like 2 steps away from being a Vocaloid
i do like how ironmouse use some exaggerated vibrato, boarding a trill, to keep a bit of the unnerving feeling in the song.
Other VShojo members reacted to it and ironmouse said she helped on who did what parts to sing and who where more comfortable with what parts to sing, GEEGA i never heard her sing before but she sounds nice, Btw Zen did do a cover of that Cyberpunk I really want to stay at your house song, and she was in the last years VShojo anniversary when they covered Deco27's Zombie's, Kuro said on stream that it took them 10 days to record all of this and he showed his raw vocals on that stream

The harmonies, layering, and arrangement of the vocals in this cover are phenomenal. With the recent addition of Geega, Kuro, and Matara, I look forward to seeing how far VShojo can push their ability to perform more vocally intricate songs. Kuro gives much needed depth as an alto, plus I enjoyed how much character he put into his spoken lines in the song. If you're curious about Zen's vocaloid capability, just wait and see when Color Blind, Zen and Froot's original song from the concert, is eventually released

This was a treat to stumble upon. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is one of my favorite movies.
I hope that we'll one day get Bubi and Kuro to cover "Oogie Boogie Song" from that movie. If not Bubi, then Connor would work, too. ;)

Your analysis is absolutely detailed and informative! I totally agree that the addition of the lower registers like Kuro’s tenor voice and Matara’s alto tone really gives the ensemble piece a lot of depth! I’m super looking forward to their rumored ensemble collab in December!
Also, have you seen Froot posted a couple new songs, specifically Rainy Day (featuring Zen)! It’s REALLY GOOD.

I really like when you analyze the song, it really add more to the song.

Mumei has a fun cover of "Ant Observation". Go into this one blind. Don't look at the original. It's a rather short song though so might want to feature this along side another reaction.
Bettel has a cover of "When You're Evil" by Aurelio Voltaire.
Hakka has his own cover of "Fixer". I'm not familiar with the original myself.
Hakka also has a duet cover with Shinri of "Do As I Say" by Ampurel. Shinri raps in this, so I think you'd be interested in this.
Flayon has a cover of "GRATEFUL DEAD MARCH".
Millie and Fulgur have a cover of "Shadow and Truth" with Ren, Enna, and Elira as backup vocals.
I think around 6:30 you were talking aspirated and unaspirated sounds. When you mentioned punch and how it feels obvious. Good idea. The general idea is how T sounds different based on whether it starts a sentence or is in between. Same with other consonants. Paper and Tatter are examples.
I haven’t analyzed the phrases themselves, but it’s the same concept.
I don't know if you have or not, but you should check out some of Zen's songs. From what I've heard, she actually uses a different kind of TTS software for her singing that's similar to Vocaloid, and it sounds really good.
