Don't forget to pre-soak them friction disc's;) A little bit of grease on them dowl pins goes a long ways and on the gaskets/o-rings too (just a little bit) it helps with the sealing properties and not get stuck to the case's.
Just got my ‘95 rm 250 back from a friend after 10 years being sat in a barn. This video is definitely an inspiration I’ve done a few over the years but nothing as thoroughly as this love it can’t wait to see the finished result. I’ve subbed 👍🏻
1st can I say thank you so much for the brilliant video this has helped me fix someone elses mistakes on my RM 250 My only fault is on this episode when you fit the inner hub to the outer clutch basket you don't put the washer in between them but when you go to put the inner hub on you have put the washer on But did not mention the washer I'm only saying this because I had paid someone to fix my bike and they had left this washer out and they had put the thrust bearing upside down Put the videos have helped me out ImmenselyFantastic camera work brilliant
growing up I always had KX's ,so I never realised how different other manufactures did things like the shifter mechanisms and stuff like that, interesting to see that for sure. love the videos mate. cheers
Awesome vids mate, I wait for them!. Over the past 2 yrs I've restored a 95 cr250 and a 89 rm125 both were testing albeit I subbed out the engine because the gearbox I's my limit...love ya work mate, looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep it up.
I've just spam watched all your videos up to here, you've done a amazing job, my first 250 was a 92 rmx250 I love older Suzukis also had a 97 rm125 I brought back from the dead. Would love to have your know how and skills
Thank you for these fantastic videos, incredible attention to detail throughout the entire series, can I ask how w did you get the clutch spline shaft out of the cover ?
Hi guys, is it possible to change the kickstarter gear system without removing the clutch basket? My gear has some wear and smetimes slips a tooth and I want to change it. Cheers.
another great vid mate! just wondering where you got your OEM parts? and did you soak the clutch plates? if not, why so? I have almost finished my 2000 rm250 after a very long 12 months. I absolutely love these bikes!
Thanks mate! I get most of my parts from Partzilla and CMSNL. Didn't soak the plates, just some light oil. NEver had a problem doing it that way - just cycle the clutch a few times during first start up. Good luck with your 125 build!
Just a quick question. When you disassembled the engine, I noticed the right crank case seal was facing the other way, i.e. Spring facing outside (oil side). When you're putting it back together you've got it facing the other way? Just wondering if this makes a difference to which way they're facing? Thanks
If you have a look at the parts diagram, the seal has the spring facing inside: www.partzilla.com/catalog/suzuki/motorcycle/1992/rm250n/crankshaft-model-n

Superb close-up camera work, and zen-like quality to the whole proceedings. I must admit to getting quite emotional watching this build.

What manuals are you useing as i to am rebuilding a 92 rm250 and would like to be able to reference material for the different sub systems
Nice
Why not hydroblast the covers?? Because of the materials?
Hi
What was the name of the colour you used on the engine? Currently restoring a 91 rm125.

Awesome, ill have to give CMSNL a go, Ive had good luck with Partzilla too. Look forward to the rest of the build cheers
Hey mate just a question would you wanna soak the clutch plates in oil before assembly? just wondering
I didn't soak them - just lightly oiled them. Always done it that way and never had a problem. Just cycle the clutch a few time during first start up.

G9Garage I thought that but when looking at my manual, it depicts the seal spring facing outside.
Where did you get that case saver from? I have been searching everywhere for one?

6:50 did you soak the pads in oil?
Yes, off camera
@@G9Garage oh ok
No loctite?
You didnt put locktide on primary gear nut on crankshaft....i wish you luck with casing in future. That bolt will unscrew upon 10 hours of drive
