Tbh, the more traditional version of this twist could be pretty dang cool too. I was imagining the runner getting OP loot by killing the hunter, and then the runner eventually finding out and repeatedly dying to get power ups.
I think they already did that (not specifically Kier and Dev, but some other manhunt people), still would be pretty nice to see.
