    This video is the first talk in a series of three that were delivered at a men's conference on Long Island on the crisis faced by modern men in the West. In this first talk, I present the evidence of man's lack of success in contemporary society.

    Richard Reeves' book, "Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male is Struggling, Why it Matters, and What To Do About It" is an excellent, scholarly exploration of this subject.

    Modern society has failed men pretty hard, but it’s also kinda failed everyone else too at the same time.

    All mankind fell in Adam's fall,
    One common sin infects them all;
    From sire to son the bane descends,
    And over all the curse impends.
    2. Through all man's powers corruption creeps
    And him in dreadful bondage keeps;
    In guilt he draws his infant breath
    And reaps its fruits of woe and death.
    3. From hearts depraved, to evil prone,
    Flow thoughts and deeds of sin alone;
    God's image lost, the darkened soul
    Nor seeks nor finds its heavenly goal.
    4. But Christ, the second Adam, came
    To bear our sin and woe and shame,
    To be our Life, our Light, our Way,
    Our only Hope, our only Stay.
    5. As by one man all mankind fell
    And, born in sin, was doomed to hell,
    So by one Man, who took our place,
    We all received the gift of grace.
    6. We thank Thee, Christ; new life is ours,
    New light, new hope, new strength, new powers:
    May grace our every way attend
    Until we reach our journey's end!

    Got cleaned up and chose to get right with God, am just an average guy which am fine with, working and growing, when it comes to women it feels like navigating a minefield it’s too frustrating.

    Is there a part 2 of this coming Dr. Cooper? We are starting a men’s group at our church and having both a diagnosis and solution would be helpful to us (and others I’m sure).

    The Crisis that you speak of began in the 16th century when greedy princes and other despots found the ideas of a defrocked Augustinian monk, who wanted to make a name for himself, and wasn't particularly concerned about the consequences or repercussions, useful. While Martin may not have wanted personally to found a heretical movement that tens of thousands would use to make an easy living from, the princes that used him to break ties from Rome certainly did. All we are seeing today are those seeds bearing fruit: self-centered secularism, imperious state-centered socialism, abortion on demand, promiscuous lust and contraception, sexual confusion, the abandonment of the family, false shepherds in bed with political forces promulgating and perpetuating these vices to their personal profit and aggrandizement.

      Right, because medieval Catholic priests, princes, and commoners were the epitome of morality…. I think all the kids who were calling their priests “father” in a more literal sense back then would beg to differ… The papacy was never sold or purchased either… Popes never had illegitimate sons or anything of the sort… Princes never manipulated the papacy or the church broadly to make a quick buck through selling indulgences… I think it’s rather naive to only blame Protestantism for these evil issues. They’re issues that stem from our evil hearts. Even if the reformation had never happened, these problems might still have come about. Medieval Catholic Europe had seriously depraved people too. Read Erasmus if you don’t believe me! Back when the church was all under the same roof so to speak, there were still serious moral issues. Now, that’s not to say that some of the ideas of the Protestant reformation have no relation to the issues at hand, but it is not a Protestant only issue.

      On the bright side, people can read the Bible and agree with what it says without being burned at the stake, so that’s nice

      @@SilentEcho4178 If you knew ANYTHING about the history of Protestantism, you'd know that protestants (like Luther who the Nazis quoted in their mass exterminations of Jews and secular rulers like Queen Elizabeth, in line with protestant proscriptions) mass-murdered their ideological opponents 100 to 1 their Catholic counterparts. (you'd also know that the separation-of-Church and state STARTED with Catholic Church) You'd also know that ONLY secular (and NEVER ecclesiastical) authority had the power to execute anyone. I think even Jordan B is educated enough on factual history to confirm this reality.
