Glad you’re exploring this fantastic, criminally underrated band, and my favorite band of all time. I was fortunate enough to meet Michael Hutchence a couple of times in the 90s before his untimely death. His bravado and dynamic persona on stage belied a sweet, shy nature underneath. I’m glad I got to witness both of those firsthand.
Loving your INXS reactions. Simply put, Michael was a force of nature. When this band hit the scene he was often described as what it would look like if Jim Morrison of The Doors and Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones had a baby. To me, Michael overshadowed both of them in stage presence and charisma. He is widely regarded as of of the best front men in rock, and it's easy to see why. Of course, the whole band is incredible. Truly, truly talented musicians. One of the greatest Aussie gifts we were ever lucky enough to receive. Are you familiar with the band U2? You've been killing it on the live performance reactions and I've got another doozy for you. U2 at Live-Aid in 85 performing Bad. Another legendary band with another great front man and vocalist.
My fave band ...they where so tight as a band from years of playing pubs and venues back then in late 70s early 80s ya had to be good ,and those pubs in Australia back then where ruff not like ya pubs these days ....lot of great Aussie bands from the era
Love this vid. The band is pronounced in-excess, a play on words of indulgence. Do I think Bob Geldof had Micheal and Paula murdered, and then kept their daughter Tiger from seeing M8chael's family, yes I do, thank God we have Wembley.
Michael was charismatic AF. He (literally) levitated. The man was clearly on a different frequency. So sensual 💯
RIP MH
One of the greatest front men ever.
The band is insanely talented.
Big T. Farriss fan
