I was having trouble with the gradient not appearing, then it worked after I put a (color: Colors.white) on textStyle on the desired Text

Yes, I remember when I learned this I had trouble debugging my code to understand what was the problem. It needs to have something explicitly being painted (like a color) under the shader mask otherwise it wont work.
