One thing that is missed here is that the cross pattern on the caliper has to match the pin on the rear plate of the brake pad. If it does not line up it will create excess pressure and wear the pad in no time. I like you must have been lucky a half a dozen times before I hit this issue
Before mounting the wheel back up, pump up the brake pedal. then use the parking brake to keep the wheel from spinning when you tighten up the lug nuts.
You installed your caliper pins in the incorrect order. The pin with the rubber bushing and the line machined around the flats goes on the top. I removed both pins from my caliper bracket yesterday and got them mixed up. I had to go find an exploded diagram online to see where they went. Supposedly the rubber bushing has something to do with mitigating vibration when braking...
Thanks for letting me know. Got distracted and forgot which order. I know it helps with evening out the travel to wear pads down evenly. Gonna swap them in the correct order. Cheers!
Next time please don't support the car on a Harbor Freight jack without jack stands or at least the removed wheel. And I didn't think that you shouldn't tighten with a socket on an impact drivers.
Pretty good job. But you didn’t torque bolts on caliper 37 ft lbs. didn’t lube hardware for disc brakes. Didn’t use silicone on slider pins ( not brake grease ). Minor things but makes a difference. Thanks
@@MobileCarMechanic hello also what is the torque spec for spark plugs on honda hrv 2020 with a grease and the gaping on spark plugs should i change it or leave it when i buy the spark plugs?
The tool to rotate the caliper back was new to me. Awesome, Thank you. i spent an hour trying to use c clamp, cussing and wondering what i was missing.

I have not been that lucky but I went back and ensured the cross pattern on the caliper matched the pin on the plate. Thank you for the feedback.

Very good tip! Cheers!
Or merely pre-torque the lug nuts with the impact wrench and lower the vehicle to the ground for final tightening...

Thank you for the suggestions.
You must be a renter. Spraying and lubricating with nothing underneath 😂
Haha it’s my friends driveway.
OMG, is he still your friend? Brake cleaner eats everything and that includes asphalt
I appreciate the video, had no idea that the rear piston was a screw type. Tool ordered to be delivered tomorrow
😄
Good job All is ok, but next time don't forget the jack stands. ✌🏽
Yep, thank you.

Thanks for the info
Another great vid 👍
I did 2 vids on this with pads and rotors for both front and rears since I was getting a clown horn noise when braking
Greatly appreciated! Cheers!
One thing I would like to add, it is best practice to line the channel on piston face with nipple on break pad.
Thank you for the suggestion.
do you have videos on how to do brake flush on honda 2017
I do not at the moment. Thank you for the suggestion.
Great video
Thanks!
You should always grease your slider pins with brake lube
Yes!
Thanks!
Glad our video helped. Greatly appreciate the donation. Cheers!
Careful not to overtorque those guide pins, they're only about 15-19lb-ft
Thank you for the advice!
thanks
You're welcome!
Great video thanks! I've had my issues with this task... 😢
You can do it!
You put the wrong slider pin, in the top, and vise, versa. 🙄 🛠
Thanks for catching that.
Should try a better angle , couldnt really see much and couldnt see how far out the break pads supposed to go
Thank you for the feedback! Cheers!
Other than the switched caliper pins, my only other issue is the rock chock!!! 🤣
Thank You for your feedback, Needed to include a little bit of nature in our video haha

Was the handbrake off the whole time
Handbrake was off, Some honda/acura models let you retract without a tool such as this one and causes no electrical issues.

So no need to open up brake reservoir when pushing caliper piston back?
If your just doing 2 axles then you are good to go, if you did all 4 wheels then it may leak.
@@MobileCarMechanic ok, good to know. Thanks for the reply.

Dude! Me too. I was so mad it wouldn’t compress😂
