I'm a painter and I LOVE your podcasts! Just wanted to say THANK YOU for making these videos to keep us all inspired in this wild sea of internet content that move far too quickly to create any cohesion! You are so clear and concise, it's a pleasure to hear all you have to share. Much appreciated.
I had to rewatch this. I’ve listened to other artists on composition and have taken online classes about composition, but Paul just shows things about paintings that I don’t see anyone show. This is so extremely valuable to understand how great pictures come together. Thank you, Paul. This was excellent.
Hi Paul, thank you for the videos! I am taking a portrait class from Mary and loving it! It is inspiring to continue practicing Boston School painting consistent with your teaching. Hey, that still set up looks a bit familiar!
The subject is how light gives volume and form to physical objects and how showing the effects of light by shading creates the illusion that a 2 dimensional object such as a circle, is a 3 dimensional solid, like a sphere.

Lol, yes!
The philosophical touch is appreciated.
I try to think about elevating the life of the viewer, as you ask.
not always a self-evident thing, is it?
Yes, Janet, I appreciated it too. The last minute or so very much, Paul. The rest just much appreciated lol
