- The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced follows on from the successes of the XT4 and XT6 in previous years. It's a brand new sneaker based on the GCS Pro originally released in 2005, but made fresh for 2022 with an updated colorway among other changes. Are these the best new sneakers for gorpcore and hikercore fans, or should you save your trail snack money for something else?
The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced is currently scheduled for a February 2022 release at approx. £195/$250/225 euros

Persona 5 OST
I was hoping Salomon would stay lowkey. I used to be able to buy Xt-6 models for almost 50% off but now they seem to be selling out fast, especially the all white models. But I'm also happy that they are blowing up since we'll be getting more models, colorways and collabs. What I hope is that they stay closer to the modern/sleeker silhouettes like the xt6 instead of the vintage/retro/ chunky ones sorta like xa pro. Some alternatives are Merrell's 1trl and MQM ACE CRAZE line if u wanna check em out.
I feel that. I was the same w carhartt and new balance. However things will cost more and product less readily available. It's pros and cons. However I have met some people who think they are Salomon/carhartt wip/new balance die hards but are just trend riding. That's also good tbh brand gets growth and I get more people to talk to about brands 😂
@@aharansandhu6120 Jump on the asics wave then - no where near as much as. hype as New Balance, get so many good shoes on sale.
I felt the same way about ASICS. They were the only shoe I’d ever wear, the Foundation was my favorite but the KAYANO had been in my closet or by my door for many many years
From a purely visual perspective, I feel like this is the type of shoes that look miles better when you see them with a complete outfit. Really like how you've done it in the few clips of you wearing them.

I think most Salomon's fit the "Dadliest catch" aesthetic and I for one am all for it.
I was just shoe shopping online, saw these and thought “oh these are cool. I wonder if they are any good” took it to UA-cam and was pleasantly to surprised to see you had a video on them! Fun stuff

in the last half year, I've noticed a number of streetwear shops have been stocking hiking/trail running shoes and boots, which seemed odd. But now it seems that brands like Salomon, which I've only associated with hiking and mountaineering, are becoming fashionable. The ACS Pro in all black looks great, regardless of whether they are trendy right now.

I don’t mind these but they’d currently be towards the bottom list of my list of preferred Salomon trainers or boots. The mesh upper reminds me of Adidas Climacool trainers from the early 2000’s and the suggestion that they have a “torsion” feature in the sole reminds me of the fact that Adidas owned Salomon up until 16 yrs ago so there could have been some crossover features between the two company’s products (although the rectangles around the toe box on these ACS remind e of Nike Sunder Max shoes) I’m going to stick with my XT-6’s, Mid Ultra X 3’s and Speedcross 4’s for now whilst I also hope to pick up a pair of Quest Element GTX boots in the sales

My mom has been a hardcore runner for a while, so I've known about Salomon for a bit now, and its cool to see them blowing up showing up in more fashion-centric circles, and shaking up the usual suspects when it comes to footwear
All of a sudden New Balance and Salomon on the catwalk
They've been pretty well known among those circles for a while know. The 11 by BBS collabs and the S-Lab Alpine had a huge part in that I'm sure, but also the popularity of the "mainline" shoes like the XT in Japan's hikercore scene
I love my pair and definitely the styling just works. I wouldn’t look at these as an upgrade but more a retro as these as you said are essentially the 2005 Salomon GCS pro but with an updated midsole to incorporate the acs technology. The original was actually in collaboration with adidas hence why a year later the climax I’ll came out with very similar aesthetic. Anyway great vid and definitely agree that these will be an IYKYK pair this year for people.

Love the color of these and the tech... is it me or do these look a bit like beefed up Vomero 5s? Still might just have to cop. I do like things colored slightly green, and I'm not even into gorpcore.

£175 they were. In my basket reserved for me as well by Salomon for a while. Saw that they would be releasing more in February and I was like ahhhhh maybe not. I wish I did now.
For some reason they were £175 on the site but once adding them to basket they changed to £195. Very annoying!

First Salomons I like, especially due to the subdued branding and colours.

As an average hikercore enjoyer, I do admit to liking slightly green stuff.
These look like a great candidate to try dyeing to give that 11 By BBS look. Might have to practice on some thrifters first though! D:

Are they good for walking in general ? They won’t hurt your feet or back or anything ?
@@iverbronx hi, I sometimes wear these salomons to work (for 8,5 hours), but rather in my free time with a good outfit for about 5-6 hours (city walking) and it's not a problem. My feet never hurt in these shoes. I bought them online at a 50% discount, which is a great choice for me. For me, it's a half size up and I feel good in them (but it will probably be individual). If possible, try these shoes on in the shop. Sorry for my bad english 😇

Would I be okay going a full size up?
Big fan of the Speedcross; ordering the goretex in black since I found a place that has stock in my size. Aesthetically, I really like the black with the red highlights and the "this can wall-run on marble" looks of the Speedcross, but the SACSPA (i don't care i'm callin them that) moved up on my list if I do decide to invest in a Dume or find some other excuse to make the lighter color scheme work, since I like the way it is put together visually and the lack of branding.
I love Casio watches but I don't like my shoes acting like them, advertising every feature long after I bought them.
Really want these but they’re $400+ on StockX…what’s your source that they’re dropping again in Feb? I can’t find info about that anywhere but definitely want to be there if it does happen. Cheerz

Pretty sure they once again don't come in smaller sizes for us afab people with smaller feet. I need a EU38 or UK5, usually those shoes always just come in mens sizes and that's usually EU41 and up. I really like this specific design though.
That's a shame, tbh I find at the bigger end of sizing Salomon also aren't super consistent. Some retailers don't stock UK 11.5 at all. Hope they realise there's a market for 6 and below though, there's a lot of people out there with small feet!

honestly Salomon's look good, but as a hiking shoe thery're really lackluster, i've had a couple pairs that have sprung leaks real quick

Salomon shoes are not a design product for me but simple practical and well thought-out shoes with very good ergonomics.

With UK vs US sizes, I was frustrated to get some FOTU US8.5 and find they were way too small for my UK8 feet. When I went to Nike Clearance, I got trainers to fit me, which were US9.5!
Maybe it is just my foot shape (long and thin), but I don't think I'll ever buy blind again.
Uk size is US size - 1, or rather if you‘re an 8uk, you are a 9us
@@PrismFoxes Hm, maybe a US10 would fit me better then. But the chart I read, plus the Nike boxes, said UK is US-.5. So US8.5 = UK8.
Ah well, at least I got the FOTU shoes on sale and might be able to sell them.
I always just go by US sizes when buying. For example I wear 7.5UK / 8.5US in Saucony, but 8UK / 8.5US in New Balance.

How’s the sizing like? You said tts, but you said same as xt-6 / xt-4. Most people go .5 up with xt-6 due to it’s width, which is what I did. Think I can get away with tts for this model?
I would stick with the same size as your XT-6 if you find those comfortable
Great looking shoe, very sophisticated but those ventilation panels are absolutely dumb in my opinion, especially for a shoe that is created for outdoors with the possibility of changing weather.
I'm just talking about rain but intense / cold wind would be the same. It's like Adidas ClimaCool ; sick on paper but pretty much useless in reality.
It depends on the climate you will be in. You would want breathability over waterproofing in a hot climate, not all people live in cold places 😊
