  • Unfortunately for Paper Rex, they have been eliminated from VALORANT Champions 2024 after losing to EDward Gaming in the Group D Decider Match.
Following the contest, we spoke with PRX's Ilya "something" Petrov about the series. We discussed the number of times PRX vs. EDG has happened, if he believes the year was still a success, and more.

I'll forever be a prx fan. Heartbreaking to lose this way but hopefully they'll be better next year.

its a year for them to learn i assume. ofc its disappointing to see them getting grouped this early but lets hope for the best like always. they even qualified for every international events this season

they don't need to learn, they already learnt everything last year. This year was for them to apply everything they learnt but they didn't do anything. Yes, because Jinggg's situation happened it was really tough but they should've done everything to win champs and not get grouped

i don't think it was a succesful year. u guys are paper rex not a tier 2 team. u guys were 2nd place in 2023 champions. I mean like it is not a thing that every team can do. they just need to be more as a team. we want 2023 paper rex back...

this is a kind of silly take. metas change. competition gets better. it's not like PRX got worse. they still play very similarly to how they did last year. but characters they played a lot got changed (specifically talking about Skye here), and that changes how you play a map at a fundamental level. they did better than every other APAC team aside from GEN.G (so far. obviously still possible that a team like DRX make a deep run in champs playoffs). silly to call a year where they made all 3 international events despite the level of competition around them getting better AND having to change some of their comps around (and they also only got jinggg back on the team like halfway through the year). you are naive and don't understand tac fps if you think this year was a failure for them.

If you take a look from the start of the year most teams get hit hard by sudden change like the Skye Nerf etc, but prx I think the one who got hit the most with the Skye Nerf and then further into the season the map rotation also really kill them with breeze, icebox then obviously haven't back split out it's this whole stuff making them feel weak.

@@moderndaycain winning stage 1 dominantly and not being in even top 4 team in masters shangai is not an expected thing.. You just saying that prx played well even they couldn't be getting better at some stuff. They just don't learn from mistakes or whatever. They could've won a masters and maybe champions but they didnt so that's why im saying it was a failure year.

@@caimssy1.1 you could say the same thing about fnatic though? they didnt make madrid, got eliminated 8th at shanghai even though they won emea stage 1 in a pretty convincing fashion. yet they haven't made top 4 in a international lan this season (as the time of writing this ). which is probably worse than prx making every single global event this year and getting third at madrid. but i feel like no one would say fnatic had a bad year. which is the opposite of what people are saying about prx which i think is to blame about how they lost (bad fundamentals like spacing and weird agent comps) and the expectations put on them (being one of the fan favorite teams). but i think its insane to say they had a failure year considering other teams would beg to be in the spot prx is in

@@YoelGin which team would want to get eliminated with such an unpexpected way from all international events? and i think so yes, fnatic had a failure year too.
